Next year and Kyle Kempt

Regardless of what happens next year, I love that Zeb was able to learn from Kempt this year. That can only help Zeb's growth going forward.

Kempt wasn't perfect, but he made most of the throws <20 yards very well. And while he didn't have the strongest arm, he aired the ball out enough to keep defenses honest. Our offense isn't really going to throw that many throws >20 yards in the course of a game anyway. I'm ok sacrificing a rocket arm to have a smart QB that can go through his progressions for the other 90-95% of his throws.

Someone on here said that with Kempt our ceiling was lower, but the floor was much higher. We needed a higher floor this year from the QB since the ceiling was higher for the other offensive skill positions, as well as our defense.

It's fun to have a good football team.

Has KJ Carta-Samuels committed anywhere since his visit or have any other grad transfer QBs been in contact with the staff?

My guess is a lot of this depends on Kempt's status. Guessing the recruits would choose somewhere else if Kyle gets another year. But who knows.

Yeah. I just hope they don't get stuck waiting so long for the NCAA to make a decision that by the time one comes down and it's bad news the grad transfer QB market has already dried up. It's not Noland that worries me, it's the total lack of experienced depth behind him.

I was told if we did not find out prior to the bowl we would by mid-January....
