Next year and Kyle Kempt

If Kempt is back: Kempt is the starter, period. His play is the best at QB that we have seen since Seneca.

If Kempt is not back: The job is up for grabs and there will be a competition. If Park is back, he should have to beat Noland out for the job.

What are you basing that off of?

Because Iowa State beat 2 top ranked teams? Kyle didn't single handily beat those teams.

KK went 4-3 as a starter this year.

I'm sure that the best QB that we have available and ready will start next year. Right now they just have to get as many quality QBs on that roster so they can have options and depth.

Kempt is a few breaks from being undefeated as a starter (7-0). He would have beat WVU if the clock hadn't run out. I don't know how he could have done any more to beat KSU.

Park was 0-1 in Big 12 games this year and 2-3 last year with wins against KU and TTU. He hasn't yet beaten a Big 12 team with a winning record.

I keep hearing that Park has more upside, but I just don't see it. How many times did Park overthrow a receiver or throw it out of bounds and not even give Lazard a chance?

Campbell has proven that winning is all about doing the little things well. Kempt does the little things extremely well.

We beat OU 38-31-- OU Defense at the time was awful. I'd go out and say that OU had no film on Kempt and had no idea what to expect from the offense as well. Kempt did play well that game, but look at how many 5/6/7 yard throws he made that were ran for big gains.

West Virginia, our offense was TERRIBLE.

With Kempt as QB we scored 38, 45*****, 31, 14, 16, and 20. Once teams caught on how we used Kempt, he became very, very limited.

Those first 3 games were against terrible defensive teams.

How many times has Kempt overthrown, under thrown, totally missed a receiver? It goes both ways for that statement.

Park with his mind right gives us the best shot at winning. Zeb is 2nd if all goes right. The rub here is those are two big "ifs." We know Kempt isn't going to make the same mistakes prone to those two.

Anyway, with that said, I hope he is back. More importantly let the best man win in spring/summer to win the job next year, and if Kempt is back it at minimum raises the bar for the other two immensely.

I don't care if he is back or not, but with Zeb back and (possibly) Park back, how can you still go with Kempt.. as a fan.

Kempt does not fit the style of offensive we run! Zeb is the future, and IMO Park still gives us the best chance of winning with Zeb a close second.

Call me crazy but I'm going with whatever QB our $3.5M coach chooses. Everyone to a man thought that raise was deserved and justified so I think my trust in his decision is well placed.

14 against TCU on a cold day when our running game was non-existent. Most importantly, we won. 16 against WVU after we spotted them 20 points. For some reason, the coaches were not aggressive with play calling in the redzone that game. 20 against KSU without our star RB in a game we dominated in all phases (except ST).

Thanks for reminding me how consistently good Kempt has been.

I would love to see Kempt comeback but I would really be jacked if Campos files paperwork for a medical hardship waiver. Has anyone heard any birdies chirping regarding Campos?
Prior to the season, his brother told me it was dependent on how the season went(obviously) and if he had pro prospects. Otherwise, he was ready for life after football...

While its worth a shot, I put the chances of Kempt getting the extra year at like .000001%. I know they're trying the Tanner Lee comparison, but that really is apples and oranges. The new coach at Tulane ran an option offense which Lee obviously doesn't fit. Plus Lee filed right away and didn't wait 3 years. Gary Anderson ran a spread offense at Oregon State, but given how many teams go from the pro style to the spread or vice versa I think you're gonna have a hard time convincing people that Kempt deserves an extra year for something that happens to dozens of kids every year.

I'd say that there's a chance, but I don't know that the NCAA would really want to set that precedent.
