Good write up. The 100 year Jack commemoration and these unis, will really help keep what Jack Trice stood for in the public view. And what he and others had to fight against, even today, although things are certainly better. Progress toward human decency and equality can always keep improving, that's a given.
What will it be like in another 100 years? Positive thoughts only, here. (I have enough anxiety as it is, LOL.) We can all help improve things. It starts with us.
LOL. As I've alluded to before, this could be just a start of a money making proposition and expanded fan interest, for ISU. They could do well with these retros, even make money off a resale of the jerseys later, let alone the merchandising possibilities.
I think there is potential but I’m not going to hold my breath because we’ve really never done it before. If there were a time to start rolling out different versions of retros it would be right now.
New conference that wants to be younger/hipper, retro gear and styles are as popular as they’ve been in some time, and I’m almost certain we’re due by Nike for uniforms.
I would almost guarantee that the "Ames" from the helmet will be on shirts and hats in Cys locker room or the book store soon, if not already. I feel like Homefield or Charlie Hustle has already done an Ames one.

Just quickly created them in photoshop. I think that type of apparel would be awesome for the October 7th game. Drop the full line at the Iowa game where people will be most excited to purchase things imo. The Cys Locker Room tents outside the stadium would be madness.
I'm not a 49ers fan, but I do like this gold better than our gold when combined with red. I just think they look better as a combo, although I understand why we have the gold color we have, being an ag school and all. Is it close to tan or look tan? Yeah, but 49er uniforms or consistently rated one of the best for a reason. I know we won't wear this color of gold often, but I'm glad I got to see it at least once because I do like the combo, even if it is divisive amongst the fans.

If we want to do a Dirty 30 throwback, 49ers gold would be appropriate. But it has not predominately been our school color. The gold Jack Trice wore is the shade we should be using. Period.

I’m sort of torn on it. I love using it for throwbacks or alternates but I do enjoy our yellow and it’s been our secondary color almost exclusively for our entire existence right?
