The unis are bleh to me.

The white jersey looks very bright red and yellow, like McDonalds. Not seeing why folks are liking these so much.

The red ones clearly are using a different "shade" of cardinal then what we had for the last 10 years - say what you want about the previous uniforms, but the cardinal color was fantastic.

The black collar is dumb.

And no new cool helmet combinations? Minny did it right when they came out with a million combos that included SWEET helmet variations. The generic helmet with the (beveled) I-State sticker that looks like it came from the gift shop is boring. Was hoping for something better. O well, just win right! Can't wait to hear how much the 10yr old kids like these...

Halsted released a post with a closer look of the design details on each color. I though the best nugget is ISU is referring "the all-whites as the Icy Whites".

Possible they'll refer to the blacks as The Storm like last years grey's?

Those black and white ones would be cool if that was our colors. I really don't know how they came up with that without cardinal and gold trim. They look like something Iowa would wear.

Also for the record Iowa State’s first colors were black, silver, and red.

Anyone who survived the Criner/Walden years loathes the Criner/Walden era cyclone swirl on the helmet and on every other article or item. It reminds us of horrible nightmarish football

Outside of the all one color (R/R/R, W/W/W, B/B/B), most of the 2/1 color splits are decent.

I really like that R/W/W and W/B/W.

Real question is.. will they get grass stains? That will have an effect with the color scheme because the green isn't going to look good b/c it isn't a school color.

Also if you're sitting in the upper deck or watching on tv, the grass stain could cover some of the name or the number and then how the hell are we supposed to know whose who??

Grass stains will only be an issue for our opponents uniforms...
