New 2011 Scholarship Offer

His uncle was really built so the genetics are likely there to put on muscle. It would be great to have a kid on the team that has always dreamed of being a Cyclone.

Adam Koch would get ate alive in an 18 game big 12 season. sorry

Yeah, you're absolutely right, especially since Adam Koch had such bad games against us and Kansas in the tournament....oh, wait a minute. :jimlad::jimlad::jimlad:

It's no wonder why we suck so bad!!!! I do remember when we used to recruit big time players. Adam Koch would get ate alive in an 18 game big 12 season. sorry

Dude, I'm not so sure about that. Admittingly, I only saw him play 3 games in the tourney but he more than held his own. No way he would get eaten alive. He would be a solid role player for most Big 12 teams. Don't kid yourself.

Good point. That excactly what we need. a team of big 12 role players.

I've seen him play and I think it's a good offer. We do need some guys with bulk though, I will not dispute that.

I predict that this thread will go down hill very quickly...too bad. I remember when we used to discuss prospects instead of tear them down and diss the head coach.

It never fails. Every basketball thread turns into a negative ISU slant, even the ones that should be positive. Like ISU getting a Gatorade player of the year, a new offer to a player who from the sounds of it wants to come to ISU...threads about players staying even become negative.

This is getting old.

Well it would be a good start for ISU, considering.

Most good teams are good because of role players. Role players are not bad players they are just not the "go to - carry the team - superstar" players. They still start, they still contribute, they still are very good players. It's all relative.

Your prior comment that he would be eaten alive is absurd and has no merit.

Jarrod plays on my AAU team. I will tell you this. He is a Cyclone fan, a hard worker, and he has a high basketball IQ. He has a lot of skills, and he will be a great player wherever he goes. Ive told him many times that ISU is the place for him. For the record his offers list is Northern Colorado, Indiana St., UNI, Albany(NY), and Creighton

2 games stud. And ISU is so good.

A two game sample with statistics and factual evidence is much more solid evidence to go on than your own opinion.

You are right about ISU needing more than just role players to compete in the Big 12. Hopefully this kid has Big 12 talent if he does in fact commit to us.

The Adam Koch thing is my opinion. I agree that teams need role players. WE ARE NOT GETTING SUPERSTAR OR GO TO PLAYERS! That is a problem

I would say that in any given year that the MVC player of the year is more than capable of hacking it at the B12 level.

For those that following recruiting please comment on which player had the better skill set at the time they finished their junior year: Doug McDermott or Jarrod Uthoff?

If you think it is Doug McD, I would be curious to know why Jarred recieved the offer rather than Doug (or perhaps Doug did as I don't follow recruiting that closely)? Is Jarrod's upside that more tangible? Different skill sets?
