After reading a previous thread about the game next year, It seems a majority of the fans on here fully believe that Iowa State will beat Nebraska next year. Rhodes is a great coach, and I truly believe he will bring Iowa state to one of the top spots in the north, but I don't see them winning against us next year. Iowa State played a great game last year, and definitely deserved that win in Lincoln, but this year I think it is safe to assume they wont receive many of the breaks they got in last years game. For those of you who feel Iowa Sate will win next year please post support for why. Id love to talk some football and hear yall's opinions.

Not sure how you came up with the majority here feel ISU will beat Nebraska?

Let's throw it back in your lap. Why do you think Nebraska will beat ISU?

I think we got lucky last year and I didn't expect us to win. That being said if we hadn't been playing hard then those opportunities would never have happened and Nebraska was very lucky we weren't moving the ball or that would have been UGLY!

As long as Zac Lee is the QB, the Huskers could lose every game on the schedule. Oh and a man name Suh (who they cannot replace) is gone. I think NU will 3-4 losses heading into the game.

Do ya have a different QB or RB than you did from last year? We got a few favorable bounces last year, but we were also without our top two offensive players.

My reasoning for ISU winning?
Last year we beat you in Lincoln, without our starting QB and at the time, league leading RB. Sure, we got a lot of bounces, but a lot of those were forced on our part.
You guys also lost Suh and the game is in Ames this year.
That is why I think we will win.

Why do you think Nebraska will win?

I look at it this way - we won in Lincoln with our backup QB and RB starting and playing the entire game last year, and won. This year, at home, assuming Arnaud and ARob are healthy, and NU won't have the best defensive player in the country on their side (Suh). That is why I think we can win...

Seriously though, we could have our two best offensive players and you guys lost the best player on your team. I know you would like to think so, but your defense will not be is good as last year and I doubt your offense is a juggernaut. I just think we will win.

Sorry about that, Ill edit it. As for why I think Neb will win it comes down to defense, and an (maybe unjustified) assumption that our O will be improved. It's true last season our O was abysmal, but it was an exception, not the rule. That was the worst O the huskers have had in many years. I think our D with Crick (Preseason All-American) and Amukamara (All conference, potential first round pick) will be able to keep ISU to 14 points. If they can do that it's likely our O with a deep and healthy O-line, and a very good running back tandem in Helu Jr. and Burkhead should be able to put up enough points to win the game.

14-10 ISU wins..

Your offense may be better, but you guys were really bad last year.

I'll be tickled if we put 14 on the board against Nebraska's defense, however I think part of the reason Crick was so good last year was because of Suh.

ISU offense wasn't bad last year for the first year of a new system. I think it will improve this year and hopefully our quarterback will be healthy.

Kinda curious if you think Nebraska truley deserves the Top 10 preseason rating it's been getting?

Every time you say something outlandish I think you can't possibly outdo yourself, but yet you somehow do...

Let's go over this step by step:

1) Zac Lee - 14 TDs 10 INTs, 126 qb rating. Austen Arnaud - 14 TDs 13 INTs, 120 qb rating... Yes i think Arnaud is better, but you can't be high on Arnaud and this low on Zac Lee if you look at the numbers.

2) Suh.. great player. but to doom NU's D because he's gone is pretty short sighted, and Jared Crick will have a big say in replacing him.

3) 3-4 losses heading into the game? Care to tell me which ones they will lose? (Western Kentucky, Idaho, Washington, South Dakota State, K State, Texas, OK. State, Mizzou) The only ones I can pick out at Texas and maybe Washington because it's in Seattle.

I think Iowa State will hold its own in the game, but ultimately lose by a touchdown.

Crick was good last year because of a certain player always getting doubled. That player will now be playing for the Lions. He will not be a factor now.

Not only does UNIGuy4Cy makes us look like a bunch of morons, but he makes UNI looks like a bunch of morons too.

In no way was my post troll like, and to those of you who think it was your just a little insecure. As far as injuries go we gave a vast majority of our carries to our third string running back, and our QB was injured. Even with that being the case and 8 turnovers our offense gained 123 yards more than yours. Our 3rd string running back averaged 5 yards a carry. Even if our D isnt as good as last year (Even though Pelini and Suh both said it will be) we will still be in the top 15, and that's good enough to hold ISU's O to 14 points.

This is incorrect. Crick was good last year because he is one hell of a player. Teams had to control their double teaming on Suh because of Cricks ability. Crick will be good.
