NDSU favored by 2

It would be a shame if this NDSU team beats ISU on its home field. Back to back seasons with losses to FCS teams would really knock the program back to the Walden years.

Rite on AC....2 losses to fcs teams is the real essence of the Jimmie Dean Walden Years......

Of Misery

Of Losing and Losing Again

Of everything that came out of Jimmie Dean Walden's mouth was a total Joke......

5dimes and betus both are reputable sites , very close to Vegas action. LVH in Vegas puts out fcs odds the day before.

it was NDSU -3.5 for awhile. It'll end up being a pickem by game time! this is designed to get bets to the ISU side and it's already working. Vegas/off shore have been taking a beating over. NDSU winning fbs games they won't let it happen again

.....I kind of hope we're not favored against NDSU. I don't think we deserve to be, and I don't want the ISU players thinking they are better than NDSU just because we are the bigger school. That doesn't mean jack squat. I want our players to earn the respect they want.

Agree that being a dog to NDSU should motivate the team. I'm more concerned with the coaches getting the team ready than anything else.

As my last post stated..... we can be "hopeful" about a lot of things this year, that's fine, but it's nothing more than "hope" at this point.

I too "hope" that we're better in all aspects of the game this year, but I will not make the mistake of believing it will happen until I see it. As a lifelong Cyclone fan, I know better. I had a lot of "hope" last year that we'd beat UNI by 3+ TDs going in to that game. Turned out, UNI was better than us and more prepared for that game. So my "hope" didn't mean a whole lot.

"Hope" isn't going to get this team very far this year. They have to prove it on the field, not just "hope" they are improved enough to win.

I know better than to think we're going to beat NDSU because we are Iowa State and they are NDSU. I'm sorry, but saying "we're Iowa State" doesn't hold much water these days. In fact, it means very little. If you think NDSU will be intimidated by Iowa State, you haven't been paying attention. We haven't had enough success to intimidate anyone. Last year, our guys looked intimidated by UNI if anything.

NDSU has nothing more than "hope" that their new Head Coach and Staff will be as good as their previous coach and stuff. NDSU has nothing more than "hope" that Wentz can replace Jensen. NDSU is "hoping" they can replace their starting DT's and All American CB. And they "hope" they can replace the 28 departing seniors.

I prefer to think that players can improve. This team does have some talent and will keep improving as they gain even more experience. We are a young team.

NDSU may have lost some talented athletes - but do not let that fool you. They have a talented backfield even with a new QB.
To bad I have been relegated to watch the game from outside of Ames ... GO CYLCONES ... we need a solid win here.

Last year we did not start the same offensive line for 2 consecutive games until the 10th game of the season. Hard to get continuity when you have that many injuries.

Coming in the underdog is a big part of the success formula, same reason the top MWC/WAC teams are an easy pick to win bowl games. Best thing that could have happened for this game outside of great prep is both teams knowing bday is favored.

Agreed. And let's hope NDSU lacks the chip on their shoulder.

No such luck. Lakesteer has already dropped on us that the 'Chip' line has been played by NDSU, even quoted the coach or team I believe. We are nothing more than a stepping stone on the way to their 4th championship. Demoralizing to say the least.

Look how much the line has moved in a few days. NDSU has a new coach and is not the same team as the last 3 years... Not to mention it's a road have for them. The smart money will come in on ISU and this line will move into ISU's favor before it even hits Vegas.

5dimes is offshore, but is basically a Vegas book. If Vegas set their lines today they'd be the same as what 5dimes has.

That said, I agree with you about the line moving. I think the game will be a pick 'em at kickoff.
