My thoughts exactly...

Wow, I guess common sense isn't allowed on here so I'll have to post under my secret alter ego

How much money can they possibly be making selling ANF stickers. What do they cost a buck fifty? So lets say they keep .50 for each sticker and sell 100,000 that amounts to what $50,000?. For this to be about money it seems to me there would have to be a lot more involved than that.

As far as why bring them back now as I mentioned earlier it's not like the family farm of 2010 is any less endagered than the family farm of 1985. It's just as relevent now as it was then, maybe even more so.

I swear to god if the people on this board spent as much time/energy supporting ISU atheletics as they do looking for things to ***** about Iowa about we wouldn't have half of the problems that we do.

Who do you mean by "we"? I think that you way overplay the time/energy it takes to type in an opinion on a message board. I personally invested about 2 minutes into this thread. Wow.

Just another justifiable reason to want to drag Hayden Fry behind my SHO on I-80.

I never liked Hayden Fry. But in 1995 my grandmother's toy poodle got hit by a car. A passerby stopped and carried the dog to her door. Imagine her horror and surprise when she noticed it was Hayden Fry.

he took the dog to the vet and even paid the bills. My grandmother didnt have much money, she cleaned the dorms at ISU for years. Fry paid for two operations and the dog lived another 6 months.

After that, I had a hard time hating him.

Really? How so? You might not agree with what I say, but I never personally attack people here.

Maybe you don't say things like "you're a ******* idiot" or something along those lines, but you routinely belittle your alma mater, and it's fans. I'd call that "flaming". To me "flaming" sounds like posting with a beligerent agenda, not specifically personal attacks. You definitely have a beligerent agenda on this site.

I doubt you have any idea how much the author of that blog, or anyone else for that matter on this board contributes to supporting ISU athletics.

After reading this story I have a hard time believing anything else you post. :biglaugh:

I'm embarrassed for nearly everyone that has spewed venom in this discussion threat.

1) Stop feeding the trolls. Ignore the trolls.
We does any Cyclone fan even put forth the effort to banter back and forth with a group of anti-fans that sit on this website just to chuck crap?

2) Sit and think about it - this whole ANF-thing is funny.
If some one doesn't already know we need farmers, we're not going to get the info across now. To them, food comes from boxes and bags at a grocery store. Poof, it's magic.

3) Flash in the pan, goal attained.
Iowa wants publicity for doing this, and shazam, we're giving it to them by complaining about it. Is enough money even going to be made off of this trademark to really matter? Doubtful.

Meanwhile, the folks at ISU are focused on agriculture, and they're not wasting time arguing with a non-ag school over who is doing the most. [eyeroll]

This is nothing more than a reinvented pink ribbon campaign. Breast cancer awareness is through the roof - and all the money raised by people buying crap with a pink ribbon on it just keeps going back into making more crap with little pink ribbons on it. Does the money going to where it's actually useful, like research? Nope.

Breathe in, breath out, move on.

Different tack here....what it says to me is that Iowa State is so far behind Iowa and other college athletic programs in marketing their products that it isn't even funny.....if there was any sort of energy or strategic planning in ISU's marketing department this could have been done to benefit both ISU and the state's farmers a long, long time ago.

It kind of reminds me of something I read on CycloneReport.com a number of years ago about ISU not relinquishing it's intellectual property rights or some such silly B.S. to an athletic apparel company, or something like that (it was a long time ago, and I don't have a link for it). I don't care for Iowa either, but there will always be more fans in the state as long as ISU remains clueless and inept in marketing themselves.

I swear to god if the hawk fans on this board spent as much time/energy supporting their own board as they do looking for things to ***** about Iowa State's message board's posters about we wouldn't have half of the problems that we do.

There, fixed that last part for you.

Get a life. That goes for the author of that article as well.

This thread could have just ended with ozzie's post. What more is there to really say? The dude that started the thread needs to get a life and get over his envy of Iowa. Oh, and maybe grow up too.

OMG OMG dem hawkeyez bee traydemarking demselves a stikker!

Do you know what happens when you have such a lousy football team and your rival has a great team? You have to resort to things like this or "their fans didn't go to (insert school name)".

As a die-hard Kansas City Royals fan (the baseball equivalent of ISU football), I'm just glad our fan base does not resort to this sort of childish envy. We know the Cardinals are far superior to us. It sucks. I freakin hate the Cards. But I don't start "the Cardinals wear red hats and that's them trying to market towards the Bloods."

Grow up. Get a life. Quit being so envious.

Oh yeah, and don't deny your envy. You, sir, cannot hide from the truth.

You need to proof read your posts. Just about everything you said contradicts the point you were trying to make.

Oh look, flame #2. Mods? Admins? Anyone? Bueller?

Crickets.

Who do you expect to stick up for you? Everyone on this site including hawk fans know you're a tremendous ******bag. Facts aren't flames.
