Yeah, it's pretty much just tradition... except for the part of licensing the mark and making money off of it. Iowa is paying lip service to the farmers and making money off of them at the same time. Brilliant. A complete ******* move, but brilliant.

It's pretty convenient that you left out the reason the sticker was put on the helmet in the first place.

Hayden put it there during the Farm Crisis in the 1980s, it's not just lip service, it was/is done to make a point to the people outside the state of Iowa.

Why are so many of you ISU fans so insecure that you just can't stand Iowa fans over here? Message boards without rivals posting on them are flat out lame. The real reason ISU fans cry about Hawkeye fans coming over here is because we bring the truth and all you want is to come onto here, rip on Iowa without us being able to defend our program with the truth, and believe that all things ISU are super awesome. You guys confuse the truth with someone being an a-hole. You know how far off base you guys are about Iowa and ISU, and it bugs you that Iowa fans come over here to take you out of your fantasy world.

Quit being so darn insecure.
