Michigan State vs. Iowa

Ventured to HN this morning (mistake). Virtually every poster is certain that Iowa will be ahead of Ohio State and go to the Rose Bowl. I'm not sure if that is a coping mechanism or not. It's definitely possible, but far from guaranteed. Some Iowa fans are setting themselves up for two losses in two days if they get announced into the Fiesta or Peach Bowl today.

I just don't see how Iowa would be ahead of Ohio State. I wouldn't feel confident about that at all if I were an Iowa fan

Here is Chris Hassel either trolling or letting his Iowa fanhood take over instead of being a national sports reporter (something he does frequently):

He is a Hawk homer but he is definitely trolling. At this point, Iowa has the same chance as ISU to make the College Football Playoffs. It's not a knock to Iowa, but the committee isn't bumping a 1 loss OU to make room for an extra Big Ten team.

Don't worry, they are just listening to Jon Miller who has ran the numbers and says Iowa is going to the Rose Bowl.

In all honesty, I think they deserve the Rose Bowl, but it would be great if Ohio State got it.

Why do they deserve it? Their offense looked awful last night

I've seen a few Hok fans begging for this. It just makes them sound like that poor little kid, who had a chance to earn what he wanted, but failed, so now he's trying to come up with some poor plan to still get what he wanted.

They're trying to say Oklahoma doesn't deserve in because Baylor got beat by Texas.

And my favorite, Iowa shouldn't be penalized for having to play an extra game. Oh, you mean that conf championship game? You know, that thing Iowa and big 10 fans were saying is what kept TCU out last year.

And their defense looked excellent.

Iowa has probably beaten more good teams than Ohio State.

I hope Iowa gets bypassed. That would be excellent.

ESPN's two bowl predictors came out with updated guesses:

McMurphy has Iowa in the Peach against Florida State (that's new, it's been Houston)
Schlabach has Iowa in the Rose against Stanford

You know, as tough as the loss is, Iowa and msu played a very good game. And the result showed that Iowa did on fact belong on the discussion all season after all.

The two best teams on the big ten played last night, and one came out on top. I'm stoked that Iowa will be playing in a great game around new years, with a chance at a 13th win.

For those of you relishing in Iowa's loss, go ahead. You've earned it. It must be tough to watch a team you hate run the table in the regular season, and be in a position most fan bases can only dream of.

The best part about it is, Iowa is positioned very nicely for next year.

You really think Iowa is better than Ohio State?

*looks at Iowa's 2016 schedule*

Great, we'll be going through all of this **** again next year.

Only Hok and Sparty fans believe the two best teams in the big10 played last night. Hoks lost to a good team with an injured qb. I never tire of reading but hurt him fan posts on CF.

Lots of great plays last night. My favorite was the throw off lineman's back and the field goals.

Isn't this Kirk's pattern? Very successful season, when expectations weren't particularly high, but the schedule fell in their favor, then they regress back average.
