Mad Fran to Razorbacks?

It's obvious someone in Fran's camp met with Arkansas. Flight records don't lie, this isn't A Few Good Men
According to Howe's tweet that's not what he asked. He asked if Fran spoke to them. Plausible deniability is how coaching searches always go. Even if Rob asked if he or anyone from his camp talked to Arkansas every coach always lies about it

He did ask him if anyone from his camp talked to Arkansas and he lied about it

I'm torn. I don't want to see Fran leave because I love how much of an embarrassment he is to that school, but at the same time I do because of the chance that Barta hires Lickliter 2.0.

Well Howe did his job then. And Francis would be the *checks notes* next coach in the history of coaches to lie about job search stuff

Honestly, I would bet Fran would be more likely to be pushing for another extension rather than leave for Arkansas. Right now he has a lot of security especially for the next few years off the NCAA, current buyout and son's committed.
FM would lose that security after 3 years in a new spot, especially replacing a fan favorite like Anderson. Razorback fans wouldn't deal well with the Fran'0 Meter level rising. Fran's from the east coast and as far as I have seen hasn't recruited the south. Granted he hasn't recruited the Northeast like was promised at the time of his hire to Iowa... it would be harder to do that to Fayetteville.

This would be interesting. Iowa would at least suck for a few years.

The right coach could win at Iowa almost immediately. Look at the talent Prohm just pulled from the Chicago/Great Lakes region being further away and not even in that region's conference.

I grew up an Iowa fan in the 80s and they had plenty of elite talent those years. Iowa and Illinois have been bad for reasons of their own creation, not because they aren't set up for success.

Any coach that recruit decently adds a class like we just had to the born tavern hawk recruits like Weiskamp.

It sounds like he's looking to get out of Iowa City based on what I've heard

Fran is 3-6 against ISU, has never beat us for for a player we actually had a shot at (maybe Tyler Cook). Only twice has he finished a season ranked higher in KenPom than ISU (1 spot in 2013) . He only has 3 seasons of above .500 in conference. He's an embarrassment to the University with his demeanor and has never made a sweet 16.

Why would I want him to leave for Arkansas. I'm hoping Barta gives him a lifetime contract
