Linemen injuries

On another note, how good have the young OL players that are getting a chance. Schweiger, Simmons, and Remsburg, not sure why Hudson isn’t back in. I guess it‘s the performance from Schweiger?
It appears that CMC & staff have done a decent job of evaluating OL recruits. They sure muffle any injury news. The development of these young guys is a nice differentiator from the prior staff.

Has Hudson graded out badly or are the other guys just better? Saw him in the last two games in spot play, but didn't see anything good or bad in his play. I was thinking that he was also banged up a little and just coming back.

So refreshing to hear this board get excited over oline play. We all said it would take years. Almost there.

Injuries are starting to add up and the play is still pretty good, which is hard to believe, based on the history at ISU. Still it would be nice to get some of the starters back. It sounds like Downing might be back late in the season or not at all, so that is a little discouraging.

So far the seven guys that have made starts look Big XII worthy for sure. That leaves us 4 non true freshman scholarship O-linemen, Hudson, Ross and Hufford on the inside and Treiber at OT. Makes you wonder how many more we can lose and not see a drop-off.

Personally I think a huge plus is the 2 R-freshmen that have been called upon are actually the ones with the lower rankings coming in. What I mean is Treiber and Hufford likely at some point will be solid contributors as well.

Correction, Remsburg didn't start but played 3/4 of the game yesterday.

I felt like during the game, the drop-off from Ramos to Remsburg was minimal at worst. That's a plus, assuming TT DL is worth anything of value.

I would say 1 more.

Believe I saw Hudson a couple times in the OU game too. Guessing he has just lost his spot at this point. The young guys have been great but I’m surprised Grant Treiber hasn’t been one of the guys thrown out there to play yet.
