Levell Moton

Not sure why we are giving all these props to a coach and team that we just gave a massive beat down. It is not like it was a close game and we hung 93 on them. If Fred leaves, I hope we set our sites higher than Motown.

Besides the obvious huge talent gap, not sure how losing by double digits to ISU is such a terrible thing?

Did you hear Ingram's post game comments? Saying the refs were giving us a lot of ticky tack calls in the second half and so on.. He should just feel lucky we didn't put up 100 on them.. And Levell barely knew the names of our players. He is a good coach but I have a feeling Fred comes in a lot more prepared on his opponents.

It's called "good sportsmanship" and "class". Both of which Moten also demonstrated after the game.

Fred respects the hell out of him. Not only does he say so, but you could tell when they met after the game for the handshake too.

If Fred respects the hell out of him, then so do I. And no, Fred doesn't respect all the coaches he faces, so don't even go there. Fred gives some guys the cold shoulder when shaking hands after the game.

All I can say about this guy is WOW.

I just went over to cyclones.com and watched his post game press conference from last night. And I tell you this, if Fred left for the NBA after this season, Moton would be at the very top of my list of coaches I'd want JP to go get. Just an unbelievable guy, and a great head coach.

He took no moral victory from last night at all. I love that. And then he commented about how tough he is on his guys and what he expects out of them each and every day. He tells all of them, and his potential recruits too, that they shouldn't come play for him unless they want to be held accountable each and every day. I just love that.

And that embrace he had last night with his two players near the end was just tremendous IMO. It sounds like he is pretty tough on his guys, and in that moment he just wanted to show them how much he cared for everything they had done at NC Central. And finally, he commented about how great his players made him look as a coach all year long. He comments about how he didn't make a single shot, or get a single rebound, or dish out a single assist. His players did it all, and he took no credit for it whatsoever.

What a great head coach, and an even better guy! He looked crushed when informed about Niang's injury. He respected Niang a LOT.

Anyway, I just thought he deserved a special mention on here. If we ever lost Fred to the NBA, I'd love to have this guy as our next head coach.

No thanks.

he looks like a great coach and I wish him and his family the best, especially his son who got hurt. let's keep the Mayor in town for now people.

Leave Moton alone, no one can have him but us.:twitcy:

He seems like a great MEAC coach, but no thanks at the Big XII level. We've seen what happens when a guy tries the slow down, deliberate offense at a high major on the east side of the state. Fans don't like it and players don't like it. Maybe he would adjust his style to suit better players, but he would need to prove it at a mid-major before I'd want him as a coach.

By the way, weren't you on here telling us how this game would never be a blowout before the game? Glad to see you've come back to have a little crow. Eat up!

Are you capable of ever posting anything that doesn't make you look like a complete *******?

I take as good as I give.

Got to give you props. You've got a lot more balls than some of the Hawkeye posters on here who predict things then either run and hide or blame officials for the reason their team lost.

You've got a good one, and like somebody else posted, you could tell our coach really likes and respects Coach Moton. You've got some good players and a good team, and I really think you could have beat a lot of other NCAA teams in this year's tournament. We're just a team on a roll right now and we were hot again last night, even some of our 3 pointers were rimming in. We would have cruised past a lot of NCAA teams last night and you guys have nothing to hang your head about.

Honestly, I'd love to get him too, but I doubt he's going anywhere. He seems to be exactly where he wants to be.
