Levell Moton

Don't get me wrong, I really like pretty much everything about the guy. But IF Fred were to ever leave for the NBA, I would hope it would be with us in a better position than to have a low level conference coach as our number one candidate.

How dare you say that! Don't you know he is the greatest human being and coach in the country?

They scored 75 pts on us. That's not Lickliter style basketball at all. The guy can flat out coach.

You coach what you have. Moton knew that they don't have the team that can outscore us, so in order to attempt to stay in the game, they slowed it down.

They ran a very effective offense IMO. As Moton said after the game, they got basically whatever they wanted offensively on us. But his team couldn't handle us defensively, which you would expect.

I'll tell you this... I'd rather have this guy than Fran McCaffrey. At least with Moton, I can tell what his team is trying to do offensively. I have no clue what Iowa is trying to do at times.

Don't get me wrong, Fred Hoiberg is THE man. I would not want anyone else coaching Iowa State. Nobody. I was saying that if Fred left for some reason, I would definitely consider Moton. I think he could work with the level of athletes he has and use them to their best ability. That's all.

They scored 75 because we quickened the pace of the game as much as they tried to slow it down.

They have played at a slow pace all year long. Check Kenpom, they play at one of the slowest tempos in the country. They run a ton of sets, use up the shot clock, and work you until they get an open shot. It works great when you have a team full of upperclassmen that have been running the system for years. When you don't have that you get what happened at Iowa.
