Let's say...

4-8 is a failure. I can remember thinking around the KSU and OSU games-- those are games we had to win. People seemed more than willing to chalk them up as a moral victory, but the difference between a ****** program and a good program is winning those games. For example, see KSU. I honestly think the difference between us and them right now isn't talent, it's mental. They win all those close games (save Auburn). They don't make the dumb mistake to cost us a game that we do. They wouldn't have let Texas go 60 yards in two plays. They wouldn't have gotten the couple first downs to put the game away that we couldn't against KSU (ok, it'd be weird to play against yourself, but you get my point). They would have self-destructed after a call didn't go there way against OSU.

I was looking for 2 wins, so 4 is fantastic. This team is awful, but people had their head buried in the sand all summer around here. Lot of people knew this defense was 1980s bad and no one believed it. Now everyone is surprised, we have no linebackers for god sake!!! Richardson isn't good enough to okay Qb in this league, when he beat out everyone else it was a horrible sign.

People just had ridiculous expectations coming in.

Anything less than .500 in conference play is unacceptable to me.

Yeah yeah, bowl games this and that are fun, but I want to be reliant in the conference. So for me this season is already sunk.

So basically you expect us to do something we've done once in the last decade. And then do it every single year? Ok...

If we close out against K-State and we beat Texas, this season looks a lot different.

Unfortunately IFs don't translate in the win column and Rhoads' teams have had WAY too many WHAT IFs over the past few years. That said, I don't think we are that far off of a bowl game and think Rhoads should be given next year to prove that.

Anyone that thinks this team will win another game this year is nuts. Take the 6 points with Kansas while you still can.

4-8 is unacceptable. (Going under .500 in general is unacceptable in my book, especially since our fanbase is freaking excellent and puts up with this crap. We deserve a winner. *I did pick us to be 5-7 this year, but still, even that is unacceptable in my eyes.)

It's the way we lose games this year and from year's past under Rhoads that has me wanting to see a change. But that's just me. I also understand we can't fire him because of the STUPID 10 year contract we gave him (otherwise it would be bye-bye time at season's end for sure), but perhaps we need to let some coordinators go and have some sort of change in that regard.

Look, I would like more than anything for this team to focus and get a win in Lawrence this weekend and find a way to battle in all of the remainder of the games/chip away and get another win or two. There is still a ton of season left. There are still big time opponents to play. Let's see how this coaching staff can motivate the guys. But, on the other side of the coin...we can lose out/roll over in all of these contests... and if that happens, I want Rhoads out of here. Losers find a way to lose, and I believe we have another "McDoormat" situation on our hands.

Yes, at 2-6 we are right where many expected us to be. That is the issue. We were expected to be bad for the second year in a row, and that sentiment has proven to be true.

When healthy I actually thought we were a little better than forecasted, but not good enough to suggest sustainable fundamental changes were underway.

Unfortunately, yes this is the reality. With our defense in this conference, I thought we were looking at 2-4 Wins, perhaps with a chance to get to 5 if the dominoes fell right. They did not, and two of the teams I thought would be bottom half teams in TCU and WVU are top half teams, and we've already blown chances at OSU and Texas. We peed down our legs against KSU and Texas. We've had moments when we've been mostly healthy where I thought we may be able to compete in shootouts, but for the most part the defense hasn't been good enough and is now falling apart with injuries. I don't expect a much different result next year.

I think 5 wins was the mark. So 4 is slightly under achieving, though better than last year.

For the first time in 20 years I'm not going to buy season tickets next year. That's how I feel about 4 wins.

Push. With our defense and inability to stop the run, more wins would have been nice but unlikely.

It's year 6. We got drilled by a FBS school. We've been drilled by OU and Baylor.

Played Texas tough in Austin - in what is probably their worst team in 15+ years. Beating Iowa is always a good thing, but that was a pretty ugly game as well.

Only thing we have to hang our hats on is playing KSU tough with a tough call against us that easily could've been the difference. Still - had a lead and couldn't finish a game.

I'm looking for improvement from year to year and being competitive. Haven't seen either.

Question whether or not we can beat KU, don't expect to beat Tech or WVU (only giving ourselves a chance because they're at home) and do expect to get drilled by TCU much in the same way that OU laid it to us.

Someone from this board should just call the Call in Show tonight and simply say, "Why does Wally get a pass?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" (be sure to appropriately show question/anger as the punctuation is showing).

Ugh, I just HATE when we lose to a team in our division!!! Just the worst!!!

Ugh.. That damn "subdivision" thing still throws me.

Can we just go back to 1A, 1AA?

These damn names make as much sense to me as "Legends" and "Leaders"

What time and what's the number? I'll gladly be the one and showing question/anger will not be a problem.

4 wins? Try 2 wins. This team wouldn't get 4 wins if they lined up against the school of the blind.

This is where we are now, we've had ours for just 10 years, it's just too much money and it's only getting more expensive. I figure with all those shiny new seats next season it'll be easy to grab a few tickets to go to 1 or 2 games if we want.

I hear the seats are coming "pre-faded" to **** off members of this board.

I think I predicted 4-8 preseason. Just think about if we would have beaten Texas and Kansas State like we probably should have....
