Kansas State Fan Here!

How did we cheat? Do you have any proof?
the ncaa never came down on the clowns out west (north of you guys) but are you trying to tell me they didnt cheat? just because ksu and knubbie didnt get caught doesnt mean they were clean.

Nice stats.

Also, what do K-Staters think about the Farmageddon Game? I really think we should be playing for some kind of trophy since this is a good rivalry game in the B12. There has been talk about an old school tractor to be brought to the game with the winning team keeping it for the year. Could be sweet. What say you K-State? Let's face it, ISU and K-State could use some cool publicity....and this "Farmageddon" game and trophy could get us some more. (The two ag-schools...etc...)

I think that would be a horrible idea. We're already complaining about this image that ISU has, with it being a bunch of country bumpkins, as well as the fact that every single home game that's televised shows a shot of a cornfield, despite the fact that there's no cornfield anywhere near us. In this thread alone we've talked about the misconception of Ames and how hard it is to bring recruits here, making a trophy a tractor would be detrimental to us. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of our great ag program, but it's not helpful in recruiting.

I was with you right up until that last sentence. That last sentence is nuts.

It's not nuts at all. Maybe you should have done a little research before you posted that statement.

Kansas State Official Athletic Site | Men's Basketball

"Kansas State was ranked No. 22 on Street & Smith's 2005 list of the "100 Greatest Basketball Programs of All-Time"

Also, that basketball history page has not been updated to include the 2009-10 season stats and achievements.

No, I don't think we cheated at all. Could you please provide some examples of how we cheated?

I don't think a traveling tractor/combine/silo-barn/etc. trophy would hurt our image. Tractors are pretty ubiquitous, they're not just in "back-country" Iowa. And pretty much everyone in the US and their dog knows that Iowa has corn, Kansas has wheat. I don't see a problem here. I think recruits are smart enough to figure out that if they're looking for a college in a big city or by a beach then ISU is probably not for them. A trophy isn't gonna sway a recruits decision. And as far as ISU's image is portrayed to people outside of the midwest - who really cares. It is a "University of Science and Technology" in an agricultural state, there's gonna be tractors/combines/silo-barns/etc.

How is Manhattan a harder place to recruit to than Ames? WTF?

Anyways, this is your last year to win the North ISU. C'mon 'clones!

Ames is only a half hour away from a big time up and coming city in Des Moines.
That might give Ames an edge over manhattan.

Good Luck KSU.

I have had the honor to work with a bunch of KSU grads and they were all great individuals. ISU and KSU were "CUT FROM the SAME CLOTH".

This summer brought us all closer together, KSU & ISU have been playing for 100 years, lets hope we continue to play for the next 100 years.

This summer has changed my thinking also. Instead of rooting against some of our conference foes, I'm 100% behind them and I will make a solid attempt to attend 2 or 3 conference road games in the next years. GOOD LUCK KSU.

GOD I HOPE YOU DESTROY NEBRASKA!!!!!!

How far back do you gotta go to put CU in a top 100 basketball program. That really makes this ranking tough to take.

I agree. Why does everything that has to do with Iowa in general have to be about corn or pigs. **** that, there are lakes and golf courses. State parks, race tracks, biking trails ect..

This discussion got me thinking. Why is rural synonymous with redneck? Anyone from Iowa can tell you that the biggest rednecks in this state definately live in urban areas or atleast decent sized cities throughout the state.

Because Iowa is really, really good at agriculture and pretty ****** about anything else. Sure there are state parks or race tracks, but they suck compared to Colorado or Utah or Virginia or pretty much any other state.

Take pride in what your good at. Agriculture is nothing to be ashamed of either. The average Iowan farmer feeds over 150 people. Jefferson Agriculture Quotations

Speak for yourself on that one. The biggest rednecks I know live in small towns/rural areas. I don't know anyone here in Des Moines I'd call a redneck.

This however, doesn't mean that the majority of rural Iowans are rednecks, because they aren't. It just means the majority of rednecks live in rural areas.
