Fields was out 4.5 games. took the end of year average and divided by 12.5how do you come up with that? They both averaged about 50 yards rushing per game and Jackson averaged about 30 more yards passing per game than Fields.
JFC that wasnt the debate at all. Cousins is a better QB statistically than Lamar. If your gonna jump into a debate, please read through the correct posts firstJust for the record you’d take cousins over Lamar?
No? Do you seriously think they are equal? If Jackson is an elite QB (second best in the league) with his numbers, then is Field an elite QB?
You really are not trying to say that Justin Fields is equal or better than Lamar Jackson here? One is going to be named MVP for the 2nd time in a couple of weeks, and the Fields will be traded at the draft when the Bears take Williams from USC.For the record, if Fields was healthy all year, he would have had more rushing yards than Jackson. Had he been healthy all year, if you combine the yards, lamar would still have his 4499, and fields would have had 4209. Using your logic, are they basically at the same level then?
I would as a passer.Just for the record you’d take cousins over Lamar?
Not hardly. I'm making the statement in rebuttal to saying lamar is a good QB just because he can run the ball. Using the logic of the original poster, why wouldnt fields be in that same conversationYou really are not trying to say that Justin Fields is equal or better than Lamar Jackson here? The eye test has to account for something, it's just cannot be numbers based. If Jackson gets hurt on the first series tomorrow would you sit there and say "the Ravens will be fine, they still have the same defense, running backs and WRs?"
Jackson is the difference maker for the Ravens, just as Mahomes is for the Chiefs. Mahomes did not have a great season, but everyone in the league knows, that if he at his best, the Chiefs can beat anybody. Jackson is not at that level yet, but is getting there and is very close. The difference is Mahomes has won super bowls, and Jackson has not done it YET.
In their abilities. No? Do you seriously think they are equal?

I am tired of this narrative. If Goff, Purdy, or any starting QB gets hurt before playoff game, would you feel confident that team will win? If there is a team that lose starting QB and still win, it is Ravens. They have defense that can overcome offensive deficiency unlike other teams in the playoff. If Mahomes doesn’t play, Chiefs’ season is over. You really are not trying to say that Justin Fields is equal or better than Lamar Jackson here? Lamar is not just a good QB, he is a great QB, winning the 2nd MVP proves that point. Stop looking at stats and start watching the way he plays the game. No defensive coordinator has sleepless nights worrying about the scrambling ability of Fields, but they game plan around keeping Jackson in the pocket and spying him, trying to stop him running the ball and he still does it.Not hardly. He was well deserved for his first one but not this year. Media hype will make him MVP this year I can’t count how many times I heard the national media saying Jackson had unbelievable year.Lamar is not just a good QB, he is a great QB, winning the 2nd MVP proves that point. I was watching Hard Knocks with the Dolphins the other day, they were showing film on some of Mahomes throws, and the players, the ones that were actually playing the game that week were blown away with some of his throws. Jackson's ability to run and throw does the same thing, he does not have the touch Mahomes has, but he makes up for it with his ability to run the ball and make people miss him.
No, I would not, hell losing our all-pro starting guard is going to hurt us, but the Ravens and the Chiefs are average teams without Jackson and Mahomes, good but not great. The 49ers would be OK with a decent backup QB, not as good as they are with Purdy, but less of a drop off then the Chiefs and Ravins would experience. Hard to say about the Lions, they are a team that is playing at a higher level than their talent says they should. Very good TE and one WR, solid running game, and a defense that attacks you. They believe in themselves, which means a lot, unlike a team like the Bills that know they are going to piss it away, the Lions still believe.I am tired of this narrative. 4-9 without Lamar since 2018 if you wanted stats on thatI am tired of this narrative. If Goff, Purdy, or any starting QB gets hurt before playoff game, would you feel confident that team will win? I think you are debating the numbers here, does MVP mean the player that had the best numbers this season, or is the MVP the player that makes him team perform to its highest level? Or maybe it's a little of both. You just cannot look at the numbers, what more could Jackson do in your mind that he already has not done this season? They are the number one seed, they are on odds on favorite to win the super bowl and his improved play has been the difference maker. He was well deserved for his first one but not this year. No Niners and Lions above average team without Purdy and Goff. When Purdy and Goff played bad, teams lost. When Jackson played bad, Raven lost some but won some games. No, I would not, hell losing our all-pro starting guard is going to hurt us, but the Ravens and the Chiefs are average teams without Jackson and Mahomes, good but not great. ? They are 3-1 against the Ravens with Mahomes. The Ravens pasted the 49ers earlier this year, and they have very good WRs, Flowers has been a great pick for them, I was hoping the Chiefs would move up to take him, kid is going to be great.
We have not played well against the Ravens in the past in Balitmore, we have to play well with no turnovers and get into Lamars head, that is his weakness, if things start going South for them, he presses and gets worse not better.
We can win the game, but the Ravens are the best team we have played this year and are playing well.
