NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

And he's 34. That's getting up there for a skill position player. And he's on a team with a middling run game and below average wide receivers. He's being asked to do so much this season, and he's responded by still being arguably the best tight end in the league, yet again.
TE’s play longer than skill position players.

I'm not sure if the stats back that up, but I'd be willing to listen if you've got them. But even so, how many 1000 yard receiving seasons have their been by tight ends aged 34 and over?

By my research, if Kelce gets another 30-ish yards in the next two games, he'll be the first.

He's playing at an incredibly high level, in a position where he's several years past what would be considered the typical "prime" age. He's given Chiefs fans so much more than they could ever reasonably expect, but the ride can't go on forever. Even if the absolutely ridiculous notion that somehow his relationship with Taylor Swift is affecting his performance were true, so what? He's clearly been able to deal with the pressure to the point where he's still one of, if not the, best player at his position, at an age where statistics overwhelmingly say he shouldn't be.

Travis Kelce is showing his age, mileage.
The offensive tackles are horrendous, that Jawaan Taylor contract is so bad.
The WR corp might be the worst in the league at getting open.
Where is our 2023 first round pick???
The offense misses Eric Bienemy’s no-nonsense, tough coaching.
CEH might be the second most trustworthy receiver right now…

KC's RT gets an early start almost every snap.

So date who you want BUT don't do what Kelce does.
I am saying something is going on, play calling, like of production, silly mistakes and penalties, dropped passes and everything else. I cannot remember the Chiefs having star players throwing helmets and going off on the refs until this year. In the end, none of it matters, they are toast this season, even if they get into the playoff, they are not going to go very far, so now the question becomes, how do they improve the team to make sure that this season is not repeated next season?

2 Super Bowl wins, another SB appearance. 2 AFC championship losses is about as good of a 5 year stretch as you can hope for in the NFL anymore. Chiefs don’t have it this year for a multitude of reasons, but this has been a hell of a run so far. We started Tyler Palko at QB not too long ago.

You don’t remember Kelce being super emotional? He has been throwing helmets, getting unsportsmanlike flags for years. It’s who he is both bad and good.

Look at this one. Taylor Swift went back on time to cause Kelce to get emotional, last season

Defenses have caught up to the Chiefs offense or maybe Andy has lost a step designing plays. Also Nagy could go and maybe find some new blood to freshen up the offense.

No kidding something is going on. But if you don't remember Kelce acting out, you haven't been a Chiefs fan for long.
This is from 2014: (pretty sure he wasn't dating Tswift then.....)

Kelce is too busy scoring with a 6 off the field to score any 6’s on the field
Kelce, Mahomes, and Reid are all more worried about bunding their home and auto than they are about their football p's and q's.

Brady and Belichick never bundled their home and auto. How many Super Bowls did they win again?

Edit: Kidding. Not really.
