OR, OR, OR maybe a lot of people just think it was a fantastic play that was unfortunately marred by a blatant penalty. And maybe they think Mahomes and Reid came off as pretty entitled, especially given the circumstances that went down less than a year ago in the Superbowl where they benefited from a call with similar questions about the role of the refs.
I was rooting for the Chiefs in the Superbowl and I was rooting for the Chiefs the other night against the Bills, but it's not hard to see that this was not some travesty of justice. It was a stupid penalty committed by a player who has shown a propensity for **** ups. Chiefs players, coaches and fans lamenting that the refs didn't bail them out of yet another one of Toney's **** ups is not a good look for them, and outside observers are responding accordingly.
