I dont have an issue with Mahomes going after the refs. They are generally terrible at their jobs and try to interject themselves into situations they need to stay out of. Remember the Jaylin Noel punt return against Kansas.
That being said, Mahomes has been on the receiving end of this numerous times, just last week they called a penalty on GB for legally tackling him in-bounds, then the PI that decided the Super Bowl.

Also, there was PI or defensive holding on Bills against Toney on the play.

If that’s your argument, he didn’t call that offsides and his position as the white hat isn’t to watch for PI or holding on a receiver. What a dumb argument and a loser mentality.
So Toney did check with the sideline judge on that play. People have put out videos online from the game. Unclear whether they gave him and OK. Also Reid clarified some things. He said usually coaches get a warning of guys lining up offsides. He never got a warning. Also from Mahomes and Reid the refs on the field wouldn’t offer them an explanation. I imagine that is another reason Mahomes got so upsets.

I don't disagree that it was a pivotal call that changed the outcome of the game, much like Iowa's fair catch ruling. But both are still rules and even though they might not get called a lot, both were textbook examples of the written rules.
I'm sure I'd be more upset if it was a playoff game, but I think the placement of the player was far enough forward that by impeding the view of the ball from the sideline, it warranted an actual penalty. Neither team (Iowa or KC) have helped their cause or garnered sympathy by how they've approached it after the fact.

Reid was just taking yesterday saying Toney needs to be better but he said he was just upset with no explanation and no warning like he usually gets. I don’t know how that is so wrong. People just want consistency. It’s why college bball can be so infuriating at times as well. This game it’s a foul but next game it’s not or in game even it happens that all of the sudden what wasn’t a foul in one half is in the next.

Complaining about an obvious penalty is dumb, I'd hope Reid is just doing it to protect his player, not because he thinks they actually got screwed.
Ok, I've watched that video several times now. No way can anyone say he checked. He pointed and looked at the sidelines for half a second before he was even completely set. No way could anyone have given any kind of signal to him in that amount of time. Also, the notion that a line judge is going to sprint up pre-snap to the coach to tell him a player is off sides is nuts. No way that happens.
I heard Rex Ryan talk about this and he said officials would come up to him during the course of a game and discuss certain lineman were close to lining up offsides and he needed to watch that. He also said it was almost always guards and never wide recievers because a wide reciever should never be close to off sides. Seriously, there is no excuse for it. Chiefs just need to own the **** up and move on.

I think more likely people are misunderstanding what he's saying. It's not likely that as a play is about to start, the sideline official is going to seek out the head coach to tell him a player is offside or lined up incorrectly. They may tell him in between plays at some point that a player is consistently on the borderline of getting a call.
Wanya Morris did an adequate job for his first start in the NFL against the Bills. His biggest mistake was not getting into Epenesa which led to the INT.
How does that work exactly? Who runs up to the coach to tell them a player is offsides? The officials have to watch the play. The ball could be snapped the second the players are set. They have to watch for motion and other things going on pre-snap. How the hell are they supposed to have a conversation with the coach? Yeah I call bullsh!t. Like coaches never stretch the truth, or just flat out lie, all the time.
I like the Chiefs, I'm just not enough of a homer for them to ignore something so obvious. Or to have a weird victim complex.
Same here. I'm not a true fan per se, but I genuinely like the Chiefs and enjoy watching them play. Just move on with the cry baby stuff. You ****** up. Own it.

OR, OR, OR maybe a lot of people just think it was a fantastic play that was unfortunately marred by a blatant penalty. And maybe they think Mahomes and Reid came off as pretty entitled, especially given the circumstances that went down less than a year ago in the Superbowl where they benefited from a call with similar questions about the role of the refs.
I was rooting for the Chiefs in the Superbowl and I was rooting for the Chiefs the other night against the Bills, but it's not hard to see that this was not some travesty of justice. It was a stupid penalty committed by a player who has shown a propensity for **** ups. Chiefs players, coaches and fans lamenting that the refs didn't bail them out of yet another one of Toney's **** ups is not a good look for them, and outside observers are responding accordingly.
I agree with this, but if that's what Reid meant then what are they crying about? I suppose if Toney was lining up offsides all game and the officials didn't talk to the coaches about it and didn’t throw the flag until that last play then they could complain about it, but I don't think anyone is saying that.
Clearly Mahomes was still ticked about the non-call from the Packers game and was just voicing his displeasure at the inconsistencies of the reffing. He came out yesterday and admitted it was the correct call even though they aren't always calling it as evidenced from the multiple times Waddle lined up the exact same way last night and was never flagged.
This season has been frustrating on multiple levels and the Chiefs aren't the only team having issues with inconsistent refs. Hell, just look at the Packers fans who were laughing at KC last week only to see their team on the wrong end of some bad calls this week.
No, they basically warn them, hey player x has been pushing it with being offsides. Coach tells player X, hey watch where you are lining up or you will get flagged. I mean the refs admitted it after the game. Cheffers basically admitted they give warnings but then said they don't have to give warnings (true). I am just saying it is the inconsistency is what is making the Chiefs mad. Not only the Chiefs either. It is all across the league.
