NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Why was Mahomes so angry?

Because the refs held it as a screw you.

Refs could probably call holding on every play, but don't.

Just because you do it, you don't get warned, and it doesn't get called every time doesn't mean it's not a penalty. Yeah inconsistency from the refs sucks but it's part of the game for every other team, not just the Chiefs. And the flag was on the ground before PM even threw the pass to Kelce so it's not like this was some dastardly caper designed to reverse an amazing KC touchdown.

Feels like he just went thru the motion here (never played football but I assume ref has to acknowledge) .... but he did check.

It gets worse.

Toney DID check with the ref.

And, you'll notice, the two officals on the line of scrimmage are NOT positioned on the same yard line. The down judge, the one that threw the flag, is supposed to be looking EXACTLY down the line of scrimmage at the field judge. Toney is visibly to the right of him, so he would think he would be in compliance.

lol he had to move left because Toney was blocking his view of the ball. Keep these coming though!

Asked what his coaching advice to Toney would be this week, Reid said, "Normally he looks over to the sideline and just gets an OK [from the official]. On that one he just happened not to. Just make sure you check, make sure you check with the guy on the side just to see if you're aligned ... He was 2 inches away from or an inch from being legal.''

It was a penalty. The biggest thing was the middle was wide open all night. Cover 1 schemes and the only time the Chiefs took advantage was on that play. It was obvious all game from the stands they should have been pounding 12+ yard routes over the middle.

How about this?

What about that "point of emphasis" they claim?

joefrog finding out that sometimes penalties don't get called is like watching a kid find out Santa isn't real, except hilarious.

Andy Reid says it's "embarrassing for the league" to end the game like that, according to Sunday Night Football.

Huh?

Mahomes is complaining about the refs making that call in his presser as well. Says "let the players determine the games".
It negated a great play, a winning play, but them's the rules this year. They are calling it now (this year). Sour grapes by coach and QB.

Toney was clearly across the line. What are the refs to do? Throw the flag then pick it up once they realize the Chiefs just scored the winning TD at home?

I'm a Chiefs fan, but I'm glad the refs stuck with the call. Sucks, but the Chiefs need to get squared away. This year they are not getting home field (more than likely).

Mahomes went all Brian Ferentz like Brian did after the Deacon Hill fumble/forward pass.

I saw the post game presser listening to Reid and Mahomes. Maybe they should “Bundle” their complaints to the NFL.
Are you Reiding into this that they should bundle their MaHomes, MaAuto AND MaComplaints? MaSense.

That is the refs explanation but then isn't that weird. Refs are then selectively enforcing it depending on what their belief on what is too far offsides to not give a warning and call it?

So you are advocating that officials flag offsides in ALL cases even those where a receiver is one inch offsides? Or are you advocating not enforcing at all?

Clarify.

For your enjoyment, Carl Cheffers has a long, colorful, and, shall we say, apparent bias against the Chiefs.

Remember Super Bowl 57 when a weak (but ultimately correct) holding call was called against the Eagles to basically gift wrap the Super Bowl for the Chiefs? Who was the white hat for that game? Can you remind me?
