NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

It's a long season but at this point not very confident Chiefs can turn it around to be serious contenders this year.

Was just thinking the same thing. Their defense is just awful. Won't matter if they can score 30-40 points a game if their defense just gives that much up too. Every offense they have played so far seems to move the ball with ease and when they do actually get a stop they usually commit PI in the process.

Agreed completely and we no longer have an elite offense. It's still good but there's better offenses.

Convince me KC makes the playoffs. I see no way they get more than nine MAYBE ten wins. And that’s optimistic.
7 teams make it now. Only the titans in the AFC south will make it and likely only Bills in AFC east. I think we will make it but we will be a wildcard team and possibly 9-8

Having said that this games tough to argue against

Man, this is brutal. Making Ryan freaking Tannehill look like an MVP out there today. Not even 100 yards of offense here in this first half.

Bills
Chargers
Ravens
Titans
Browns
Bengals
Raiders
Chiefs

oof. I still don’t like the odds with this defense and honestly the offense not being as elite as it should be.

First 4 seem certain. 2 games vs the Raiders could be the decider. Browns could drop too if they don't get healthy

Frank Clark is making 20.8 million this year.
His cap hit is $25.8M
Uggh!

Teams have figured out the way to defense the Chiefs offense is to play a deep 2 safety defense and not allow the deep throw. Force KC to run the ball, and we do not have a decent enough back to take advantage of the defense.

The last 3 seasons the Chiefs have been drafting at the end of each round, so the type of difference makers a more difficult to find.

This past draft was spend retooling the offensive line, this next draft has be to spent doing the same with the entire defense. We need a rush end, an athletic linebacker or two and most of all we need to find a running back like Hill that can take a hit and still get yards, a Derrick Henry type if we can find one.
Not sure we will have the funds to sign all the players we might need. Mahomes contract will always be an issue.

We are missing Hunt, he had a great first year, beat up his girl friend, and we release him, and he is doing well in Cleveland. We should have followed the Cleveland plan, suspend him, let the league deal with it, and then bring him back the next year on one strike, do it again you are gone.
Probably so. They wouldn't have needed to spend 1st round pick for CEH. And it wasn't his girlfriend really was it? More like a stalker? He was wanting her to just go away?? Water under the bridge.

Agree. They might be able to turn it around. Doesn't seem like it after first half here and season so far. Worried this team will be like the Packers, always there and relevant but never to Super Bowl again because of Aaron Rodgers (Patrick Mahomes) big contract. It's a Team game.

I hate to say it because I thought he was one of the most overpaid guys in the league but this offense really misses Sammy Watkins to open things up for other guys.

I am skeptical of paying anyone that kind of money even when they are at their best. That's a massive chunk of cap.
I'm wondering if the Bills might have a similar problem in a year or two. I think Allen's contract is pretty massive as well. Teams that do this may have a year or two "window" is all?
