NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I believe that Brown wasn't going to be happy under the tag and wanted a long term deal. Maybe he would sit out. I think he is a good player, but I also don't feel he is worth the amount of money he is wanting. If I am going to pay that kind of money for a LT I would want something more.

Not to mention that Thuney and Humphrey are due contracts after next season. There might not be enough money left to pay big money for Brown. That said, Brown played well this year, especially in the second half of the season. Some team is going to pay him, and I can't fault him for wanting to maximize his contract.

The contract they tried to give Brown last year was basically similar guaranteed dollars to 3 straight years of tagging, but spread out over 5 to lessen the cap hit. Plus, he was essentially cuttable after 3. He wanted more long term dollars IIRC.

I thought Kelce did a good job. Better than their normal skits for what that’s worth.

Agreed. Watched it on YouTube. His monologue was good, you could tell he was nervous. But the American Girl skit, ex-girlfriend skit, grandma funeral skit, and the cuck skit were all great.

The American Girl skit in particular was hilarious, maybe since my girls were into that when they were young and went to the American Girl lunch at their Chicago location.

I say offer him a similar deal as last year. If he doesn't want it, walk and find a replacement.
Not sure they can afford to offer that now, or even if they want to. They'll convert some of Mahomes salary to a bonus and gain some room, and there are a few other moves to make, but signing Brown to a $20 million per year deal would limit their ability to do much else.

Well, they believed they could do it last year. If they didn't think they could they wouldn't be negotiating with him now.

The best skit actually got cut from the show. It had Jason and Creed Humphries. Much better then any of the other skits.

Kelce was great, I thought the skits were not great and Kelce did as good as he could given the poor writing.

My favorites besides this one was the ex-girlfriend one when Jason made a cameo and the straight guy friend.

There's some money right there. He was going to cost $21 million against the cap.
Still going to be around $7-8 million in dead cap. KC probably offered a bit of new money and a 2-3 year deal to reduce this year's hit, but he clearly he wanted more.

Sorry, I misspoke. Clark was going to cost around $28 million against the cap. Cutting him frees up $21 million in cap room to go along with the $7 million in dead money

I just saw on Twitter that Nick Athan has mentioned that Allan Lazard may be linked to interest in the Chiefs. I would love to see him in a Chiefs uniform.
yeah I have seen him mentioned as a possible addition if they don't bring JuJu back.
