IIRC, the second floor does not have a flat ceiling. Rather, it goes up pretty high behind the new scoreboard. I think that is the ironwork going up right now.
So what happens to the people that sat in the old south endzone? Do they move to a different location or they stay in the same spot?
Uh, no. We got an early option to opt in to the new section at $750/ticket in order of donation level, but we most definitely do not get "to stay where we were at."
There has been a lot of progress over the last week or so with the warmer weather. I can't wait to see the finished product!
It looks like the steel scoreboard towers are being put together by the parking lot? The progress is impressive.
Looks like they are also moving a bunch of dirt on the connection curve from the old part to the SEZ. There are frames in place there so I would assume they are going to pour that concrete next.
I remember going to Ames the week after the big erection to see how big it was going to be.

okay, so is that the physical structure for the video board? or is it like the old one, where there will be speakers on the outside of it?
Isn't all the iron work that is currently visible related to the construction of the lounge areas? Or will it also be used for the video board? The artist's renderings seem to call for supports closer to the field side of the lounge.
I have to believe the 6 verticals they installed today are for the video board. And it's hard to tell, but appears that there is some roof in front and clearly what they installed the last few days is to the left and right of the board structure. So I'd say that's roughly the dimensions.
