No doubt, but still dumb, and i hope they dont overreact and turn the volume down (which they have done before)
Wonder of EIU will complain about the band playing with 5 seconds left on the play clock like they have before.
That reminds me, I heard a rumor that Texas hasn't bowled in their south endzone yet because it would trap too much noise for Bevo to run without being spooked and trampling people.
I remember the first time the siren went off it was against UNI, and it was raining, so it was rather erie to see how quiet the stadium got when it went off.
I dont recall them complaining about the siren in 2011. I recall them complaining about the level of noise being "too loud" in 2011.
Barta was asked a week after the game, and he said something to the effect of: "We voiced our concern (re: siren) and didn't receive a response in return."
You could be right, I just recall it being for the overall level of noise being too loud, and not just the siren.
Doubt it. Bevo was able to handle the guy with a jet pack before kickoff. That was the loudest noise I have ever heard.
Not done yet but I thought I saw where that bowling in their endzone will be part of the next round of upgrades to their stadium, along with new practice fields.
The plan I saw was 120,000 seats. They had games last year with 10-15k empties. Risky.
