Akron has an experienced defense but it's not good..We should wear this team down..MAC games are wierd but I'm counting on CMC and staff having this team ready.

This iSU defense needs to thrive off TOs..

They are very aggressive, do a lot of man coverage and send blitzes. They lead the nation in tackles for loss, but have given up several big plays. Look for Montgomery to be stuffed a few times, and also some break away runs. Should be a lot of fireworks for the offense. Like the idea of Lazard and Butler in single coverage.

This game reminds me a little of the time Rhoads took the 2009 team to play at Kent State. We hadn't won a road game in awhile and people weren't exactly expecting an easy win.

In the end we handled/dominated and won 34-14 or something similar.

That was probably the shittiest stadium ISU has played in in my life. It's a high school stadium

I expect ISU to come out a little rusty after the emotional CyHawk loss and having to travel to an odd place like Akron to play.

Akron likes to run the ball. They ran it 44 times against UAPB and had more time of possession than Penn State in the blowout.

They are a penalty machine as a team, averaging 10 penalties/game through two. (20 penalties for 214 yds)

If the ISU front 7 comes to play and can dominate the line of scrimmage against the run ISU wins by 30.

I hope Akron dominates time of possession . . . because we score so quickly and often!

For some reason I see this one like the Nebraska/Oregon game - I think we get off to a hot start, maybe have like 31-14 lead in the third quarter and the Zips get a couple late garbage TDs to make the final a deceptive 31-28 or something like that. In other words I'm not comfortable betting the game, haha.

After the first two games, I now have great faith in how the coaches and players will respond. I believe we'll see a fire-breathing group of kids who have more confidence in their abilities. I think this will be at least a two touchdown victory and we'll be able to rest Montgomery late in the game. CMC will be able to call off the dogs and we'll get new players in the game.

I'm torn in this one. I want to see the younger guys get valuable reps, but I also want to see CMC keep the foot on the pedal and beat someone by a huge margin.

Man coverage against Lazard and Butler is a recipe for disaster. They are not the fastest guys in the world, but they can sure overpower DBs and once they catch a ball they will be a chore to bring down by yourself.

I am with others in thinking the first qrter will be to knock the dust off from the Iowa game.....after that.....Akron won't be able to keep up and we keep our 40pt average...........42-14....GO CYCLONES!!!
