ISU +8.5 at KU

So playing this team in Phog Allen right now is similar to playing this KU team in Hilton in January when they were struggling?

It was a joke. Whoever plays better tomorrow will win. I'm not expecting a win but I think it will be competitive. Wouldn't touch that line though, that's got backdoor cover written all over it

Monte hits one at the buzzer. Clones 87 KU 85. Best win all year, sealing the 3 seed. I would rather have this one than the Big 12 Tournament title. If we lose on day two, that's fine. Get some rest and get ready for a deep run this year.

This is how I feel as well.

How about an Iso, Monte down to Niang, hook bank over Ellis for the win as time expires on Senior Night!

There's a reason they play the game, because anything can happen. I'm hoping and expecting a good game. Great chance to get momentum for the tournaments. Our team builds off of big wins and a win tomorrow would be HUGE and a great way to start a hot streak. Peak in March.

We average playing 4 points better at home than on the road in conference play (counting overtime as 0 points) - example lost at WVA by 10 and lost home vs WVA by 5 = 5 point difference.

I'll give KU 5 extra points just because. So that means we win by 4.

But, seriously, I expect it to be a good game and feel good about a chances. I'm not scared to get hopes up for a game.

The thing we will have to defend the hardest will be the open 3's Kansas takes in the middle of our 2 shot foul attempts.

They like to get the run-out going after we miss the first shot of the two shot foul situation and they are as good as anybody in the country running that play.

We match up well with them in the sense that they are taking more 3s than usual while we are most vulnerable inside. Their guards are small and mostly look to get fouled or kick out. And they don't have the bulk to push us around like most teams do.

KU will win if they drive, kick and share the ball. If Mason tries to do too much or Selden jacks up contested threes, ISU can hang around and maybe steal one. Lucas is usually terrible against us but has been much improved the last couple weeks. I expect Ellis to get his. It's limiting the role players like Graham, Lucas, Traylor and Svi (also looking better).

My biggest ISU concern is Burton and Nader getting rattled by the crowd and turning it over.

Welp, think that covers most of the cliches in my back pocket.

The biggest problem I see for ISU is that KU plays so many guys that, like West Virginia, getting them in foul trouble almost doesn't matter since they go two deep at every position. We have basically 1.5 bench players.

KU is definitely an above average rebounding team, but not a dominant one like Baylor or WVU, and that's really the only thing that will keep us in the game.

No thanks. They hang banners for tourney titles not wins at afh.

There is a definite difference when Lucas leaves the floor. There is also a difference when Greene is on it (defensive liability a bit of a one trick pony on offense).
