ISU +8.5 at KU

The matchup to exploit is Manning. Defensively Matt could help off of him as well.

Yeah, it's just that Thomas isn't exactly a guy that exploits mismatches. I guess instead of having him in the corner, ready for the kick out, you could run him off multiple screens, try to get Manning lost.

Thomas burying a couple early 3s would go a long ways toward feeding our teams confidence.

Have not seen this mentioned: FRIDAY - Texas (4.5 pt favorite) at Okie State; SATURDAY - Okie at TCU at noon; WVU at Baylor at 1:00; KState at TT at 2:00; then last game is ISU at KU (8.5 pt favorite) at 3:00. We will know what we have to do when we take the court if we have to avoid seventh place or earn a higher position.

I'm in favor of an uptempo game if shots are falling for us, but I'm perfectly fine taking the air outta the ball to keep those KU runs to a minimum. I'm afraid that this is one of those games where KU just gets hot from outside and gets rolling. We need to keep doing ball reversals and not fall into the trap of isolations once those runs start.

We can't get 7th place. Texas Tech already has that. 6th is the worst we could finish.

I don't think we're lower than 6, since tech lost the other night to wvu, but haven't run the numbers.

The numbers are right here. See post #50.

So how high can we go with a win?Third if Baylor and OU lose?
3rd. We would have tie breaker over OU. OU, Texas and Baylor would all have to lose though. I'll just say 4th though cause OU isn't losing at TCU.

that was when KU was in their funk....now KU is playing their best ball of the season so far. can the same be said for Iowa state?

I've learned to never assume anything from how a team played the last few games. KU is hot, sure, but they've also won by 9 over TT at home recently. I'm sure they'll be up to prove themselves after ISU stomped them by 20 in the second half at Hilton, but the talent levels are close enough that the team that plays better should win this game.

Sadly, that's not a terrible lineup against our starters, assuming McKay is back in the starting lineup. McKay- Mickelson Niang- Ellis Nader- Traylor Thomas- Manning Morris- Mason I'd say Iowa St has got to find a way to get out and run right away. Make Mickelson, Traylor, and Manning try to keep up. In the half court, try to isolate Nader with Traylor on him, and crash the offensive boards, because I don't that ku lineup running the floor too well.
I don't see that lineup being out there for very long for KU. No need to try to figure out how it matches up.

Glad I'm not as pessimistic as some around here, geesh.

I don't know if we WILL win, but I definitely think we can. I ESPECIALLY think there's a good chance we stay within double digits. How some of you can say there is absolutely no way that happens is beyond me...

No kidding. A deadball could happen 30 seconds in and they will be coming out. I don't understand why some think it will have a huge impact.

usually the team that plays better wins. ISU could win but they haven't beat a top team on the road yet this year.

The point is to stomp on it and force Bill to take a TO, throw it out of bounds or intentionally foul to get them out of the game. Timeouts are a little bit more valuable now that a coach has one less to play with.
