ISR Bowl talk

Lima won't go pro I wouldn't think. I would guess one of the two between Montgomery and Butler will go. Butler was planning on returning for his senior year going into this season I do know that but I'm pretty confident that has changed

I think Montgomery should definitely go pro considering the life expectancy of a RB in the league. For Hakeem it will depend on what the scouts tell him. They may tell him they'd like to see less drops. Or see if he can carry a team minus Montgomery.

I think there is a strong chance that both DM & Hakeem head to NFL.

I'd be surprised if Lima went early. He eats blockers like crazy but probably hasn't put up the overall defensive numbers NFL scouts want to see. Not entirely sure though.

I don't think many people put a lot of stock into defensive stats when it comes to the draft.

What are the general feelings towards Montgomery, Lima and Butler going pro?
IMO, David should. He's pretty bright and takes care of the ball and that's huge.
Hakeem dropped some passes he shouldn't have but he's an athletic freak. The Athletic reported this season he runs a sub 4.5, and for that size, wow.
I don't think Lima goes.

Does Butler need to put his hand on the ground also?

Things like this set you up for ridicule down the road. Undermines your cred. We haven't had a player in the program during campbell's tenure that would have made sense for them to leave prior to a bowl game. We are getting closer but not yet. Eventually someone will leave early.

Did you reply to the wrong person?

Braylen Edwards had a problem with the drops too and he was a top 3 pick. Scouts will look at Butler's measurables and forget about the drops really fast.

That and the draft reviews of him I have seen address the drops. It is attributed to the ball playing him instead of him playing the ball. They seem to believe that with more game time and improved game awareness will help him significantly. Lastly, the drops are not due to bad technique or laziness rather the points previously mentioned. I think that is really good for his prospects going forward.

What i have read about LIma is that he is a stout run d-lineman. Lots of really good technique and flexibility. The knocks on him surprised me. Not very durable/fit I guess that I had not noticed that. The other thing is he often over pursues on pass downs and gets out of position. It seems as though the thought is for Lima to improve his passing down technique and skill.

The biggest thing with Montgomery is his versatility. He is truly an every down back who can run you over or make you miss and is tough to bring down. He is a weapon in the passing game as he can block as well as catch the ball out of the backfield. As you said his ball security is great. There are a lot of teams in the NFL he could help.
