Isaiah Stokes visiting 9/24

He's that huge with the quickness/agility to play D1 basketball.

That would translate to a great shot of being 1st round NFL Left tackle/Defensive end.

His brother was a big bruiser below the rim at Tennessee. He went for 18pts and 13rbs against Iowa in the PIG a couple of years ago. If we could pair up Stokes and Young down in the post, the Hoks would cry.

Watching the video of Stokes would you say he is more or less athletic than Cam Ridley from Texas coming out of high school?

To me it looks kind of the same and makes me question how he will work in a run and gun offense. Just a thought...

I don't think it's a big deal. You see a lot of fairly high-tempo teams that will play with one big slow guy. UNC, USC, Xavier, etc last year.I think the main thing is you don't want to play them 35 minutes a game.

Crystal Ball is meaningless. Surprised how much it's been brought up around here lately.

Crystal ball is pretty meaningless this far in advance. It gives you an idea of who may be in good standing with the recruit, but really doesn't say much until a commitment is imminent. And I'd blame the increased talk of the 247 Crystal Ball to Halsted jumping over to 247.

This far in advance? This is the time of year where guys are visiting and committing.

For some recruits, yes. I just meant in general that it means nothing until you're close to the time where someone wants to make a decision.

He is a 2017 commit so he could sign in November. It is not that far away.

Yeah it definitely just depends on the timetable with recruits and the crystal ball. It is a nice tool to easily check who the perceived "leaders" are from guys in the industry, though.

Stokes looking good if crystal ball predictions mean much, so your looking at another 4 star, got to know Wigginton is aware of all this, hopefully he can hold out cause you know Oregon will be pressing hard.. that would be an awesome class with Lewis, Feazell, McNeill, Stokes and Wigginton, not saying it will happen, but Stokes looks good and Wigginton has to still be considered a possible..

That would be a legit starting 5

It's not meaningless when you look at it in the context that ALL recent activity is pointing towards ISU. The Tennessee picks for Stokes were football predictions from 2014/2015.

He has one visit set up..... ISU

At one point he attended the same HS as Cam Payne.

All of the predictions come from people with 70%+ historical accuracy on crystal balls.

There is a lot of smoke on this one if you dig into it.

**Edit

Oops it looks like you were talking Wigginton. Still Oregon is probably the leader there regardless.

I wasn't talking about a specific player, just about the Crystal Ball. Perhaps its not meaningless, but I certainly wouldn't put much stock in it. That said, I agree that things look promising RE Stokes; but for the other reasons you mentioned, not the Crystal Ball.

There are guys like Wiggington where picks are made months in advance, but often people's correct 'predictions' are like picking Darius McNeill to go to ISU after he announces he'll make his decision two days after making his visit.

Late to the party here, but I don't see much of Ridley in his tape at all. Body dimensions aside. Ridley is basically only a low post scorer, and can really only guard centers effectively. Stokes appears to have a decent jumper, and can put the ball on the floor and score. I think a good comparison would be Zach Randolph (the headband may have influenced that comparison).

I agree that the crystal ball predictions can change but honestly they are frequently correct and not just when someone says they are announcing in a day or two, for example McNeill was 100% to ISU at least 2 months ago.. anyway I don't know the Stokes situation but if he is looking to commit this fall and people that track recruiting predict he will go to ISU that to mean is good news...
