Is ISU looking at McCabe at all?

Didn't realize he played for the Attack.

Seems he's benefitting greatly from Harrison moving on this summer

Looks like Lickliter is being just as aggressive on the recruiting front as Kirk. One more and Iowa will actually have 12 players next year!

Also....that link doesn't work.

Him something musta got cut off. I just took it back to Iowa's main page *shudder*

You can see the article stub from there

However, this link does work. The second story is quite interesting, especially the comments.

Doc’s Office

no kiddin, pretty good '10 recruiting all around for the Hawks

We can't win the Big 12 with Iowa kids.........:jimlad:

yeah, let's overlook our instate talent so we can get the same talent from outstate. Great way to build a program.

That may well be true in FB, but MBB is a different animal. Our best teams in the last 15 years basically had zero Iowa kids. 99-00 with Tinsley, Fizer, Horton, Nurse, Rancik, Shirley and the 96-97 team with Willoughby, Pratt, Holloway, Bankhead and Cato. Klay Edwards was the only Iowa player to be a contributor on either of those teams. I'd take that talent in a hearbeat.

If GMac is passing on McCabe and Creekmur, I'm just fine with it. Honestly, they fit in better with the Butler/iowa system.

the '10 class for iowa doesnt have anyone that stands out to me inparticular, but it looks like a fairly solid class. i still think lick isnt going after the talent that it takes to compete for big 10 titles. if he has more classes like the '10 class they will be consistently in the middle of the pack and stay out of the cellar but wont be great.

the one thing that his doing however is getting his players. McD is obviously in on a lot of high profile recruits, but has yet to get the commits yet. all thought it only takes one or two of those players to commit and our class will be better than iowa's.

Butler has amassed some talent that would fit well in any system. I'm sure that almost every team in the country, including most if not all of the big dogs, would love to have Gordon Hayward their team.

It maybe be rated higher than Iowa's but the only thing that scares me a little with going after highly rated recruits is the fact that in basketball they tend to leave early. I hope GMac does his homework and get a couple of these kids and they stay for 4 years and aren't one or 2 and done.

This is a much better class for Lickliter than 2009 was.....but it will still rank in the bottom two for classes in the Big 10.

Yeah it will be most likely 10th in the conference with an outside chance of gettting to 8th

By the time it's all said and done these four could all very well be 3* recruits. That is a nice recruiting class. Brust and McCabe are both lighting it up this Summer in AAU. McCabe was overshadowed last year in AAU by Barnes and also in high school by Cougill and now he is gaining confidence in himself. Brust broke his ankle last year and wasn't able to finish the season but he was one of the top scoring guards in the state before that happened. He is now recovered and playing very well. He had a very nice tournament last weekend and comments that were made about him is that he is a lot more athletic than many thought. He threw down a couple of really nice dunks in traffic. His shooting range is ridiculous. I think he will be a good one.

They for sure will all be 3 stars. I wonder if anyone will sneak into the top 150. All in all a solid class. Is it the class that is going to turn the corner for Iowa basketball? Probably not

Does Iowa lose anyone after this coming season other than Banwinkle? After this year they only lose Cole and Archie correct? Inless of course you have a bunch of players leaving like last year
