Is ISU looking at McCabe at all?

According to GMac's Twitter page it was a productive 10 day recruiting trip. Like any kool-aide drinking Cyclone fan; I read that to mean he landed a 5-star or two 4-stars.

I wish..means more that he saw and evaluated a lot of guys we're already recruiting.

We can't win the Big 12 with Iowa kids.........:jimlad:

yeah, let's overlook our instate talent so we can get the same talent from outstate. Great way to build a program.
ISU did have Peterson, Sean, Thompson, and LA on the team last year...we know how that turned out. Are there any Iowans that were seniors in college last year that were significantly better?
Why look in Sioux City when you can get a similar player by looking in your living room?

Bo isn't as high on some of our commits and recruits as many on here are. Also, when asked in the past about the rating services (rivals, scout) he kinda laughed and said most of them don't know their heads from their arses. He implied they basically get about the top 10-20 right, and after that it's tough to distinguish between #25 and #125. At that point, it is mostly how a kid fits into a certain system.

Mccabe..if he wasn't on a hot streak from downtown, he wouldn't have any of these offers.

Really? Do you believe that a bunch of college coaches saw a guy get hot from 3 in a tourney and decided that they had to offer.

I mean, it's so rare for someone to get hot from 3 in these tourneys, right? They'd never seen it before.

Get that kid an offer. He's hot from downtown!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a guess, but...
-Oliver is from Wisconsin and did not receive an offer. Not really a Bo type player. Was recruited solely on potential. ISU is planning on redshirting him.
-Colvin may or may not be viewed favorably by Bo. That said, many "experts" have not been more found Colvin than of Diamond Taylor, a 2009 UW shooting guard commit, who is from The ChicagoLand.
-I doubt he is referring to MG, but some are always skeptical of JuCo's
-Dendy JuCo
-Scotty was from had an offer from Wisconsin
-Other guys we are targeting may in the area may not fit his profile
However, given the number of early ISU offers that later receieved UW offers, and players that considered/are considering both schools, this comment may have been taken out context

I can believe it can give some coaches illusions that others do not see. Plus some of these guys have commits from studs, they can afford to take a chance. McD took chances on similar players in the past and we know how that turned out in the Big 12.

When you only get 13 bball scholarships, it's absolutely, positively ridiculous to think that he only got these offers because he got hot from downtown in one tourney as cyismydog said.

There are tons of kids who find their range for a couple of days, but there's no way that a coach at a Minnesota or Utah or any other major is going to offer a scholarship because of it as he stated.

Coaches do not try to build a roster with players of different skill sets/abilities, especially ones that already have a few athletic, well-rounded, highly ranked players on the bench?

Devan Bawinkle?

1. I said major program. Iowa did not come close to meeting this criteria when he was signed.

2. I'm guessing Bawinkle got hot over a high school career and not just during a weekend or game or two at a summer tourney.
