Iowa new transfer?

Iowa's main problem was not a lack of athleticism, it was a lack of perimeter shooting.

What you just said shows that you know nothing about basketball. Stop embarrassing yourself, and the species.

Jesus, the difference in athleticism in the Baylor game should have been a jarring dose of reality for the sheep hawk fans.

But now, it wasn't because they ran, dunked, and defended us because they were so superior athletically that Scott drew actually out coached someone...it was because you missed a bunch of contested 3's .

Wow

Marble (FR): 19 mpg, 5.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.3 apg, 53% FT
Marble (JR): 30 mpg, 15 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg, 81% FT

Olaseni (FR): 45% FG, 62% FT, 1.2 rpg, .4 bpg
Olaseni (SO): 52% FG, 69% FT, 2.6 rpg, 1 bpg

None?

I sure hope Olaseni would improve considering his freshman year he only played in 18 games, and played in all 37 games as a sophomore. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.

If Marble's improved statistics are only attributed to more minutes and more shots, then very, very few players throughout college basketball improve year to year. They keep the same skill set, yet have increased opportunity. That is essentially the argument you are making. I challenge you to find me a half dozen players who have increased their percentages and per game averages while taking less shots than the previous year and playing fewer minutes. Go!

No, this is idiotic. We already have a stat that controls for number of shots attempted - we call that FG %. Improvement in FG% then reflects all other changes. Why didn't you quote me Marble's FG%s? (Hint: I already know the answer to that one.)

IIRC Uthoff chose to pay for his own schooling at Iowa for one year over a scholarship offer from Mr. Fred Hoiberg.
Back to my original point. Fran can't recruit outside of Iowa. Sioux City doesn't count because that is essentially Iowa.
Enjoy your hawk fan players and ISU will enjoy their continuous top 100 players from everywhere else.

Necessity has caused the improvement more than "coaching" Jesus you have NO players that can create offensively.

But since you want to talk about player development... . what about basabe, he has regressed. May never got any better.

Wow

You clearly know nothing about basketball. While the difference in athleticism was certainly alarming, Iowa had at least a half dozen wide open three pointers that did not go in. Iowa is not going to be more athletic than most of the teams they play, but they have been able to offset that on most occasions with their great length, defense, and rebounding. Increased athleticism would be nice, but it isn't necessary for Iowa to make the jump to the NCAA tournament next season. Improved three point shooting IS a necessity if Iowa wants to reach the tournament.

Ohh half a dozen...continuing in the vein that you were competitive in that game.

You weren't.

Fran has only had three recruiting classes, one of which consisted of only one player. If I were you I would reserve passing judgment on his recruiting abilities until after this class is over. Iowa could very easily put together another top 20 recruiting class this year, and none of the recruits will be from Iowa.

I never said they were close. But Iowa only shot 26% from the field that game, and very little of that had to do with Baylor. Iowa **** the bed against Baylor. It happens.

I dont blame Iowa fans for thinking they are good. They have been so pathetic for so long. Now that they are average/not pathetic, they think what they are watching is a NCAA caliber team.

Time for Iowa fans to start comparing their team to the top half of the Big 10, and not the Todd Lick era.

LMAO !!!

Baylor just dunked again.........Boom!

Oh how the sheeple Hawk media never mentioned ISU previously SWEEPING Baylor, during Hawk's meteoric rise in the NIT

Not going to happen but keep trying.

You forget that Iowa gave Baylor 1000 dunks. Just like they did Indiana, Michigan, etc.

Harris already choose Marquette. Ulis could very well choose msu.

I would probably wait until you see who you sign before trying to brag.

Length: implies athleticism.
Defense: generally requires athleticism.
Rebounding: generally requires athleticism.

So the reason you don't think Iowa has an athleticism problem is because you think they already have enough athleticism. This shows how little you watch basketball outside of Iowa games.

What was Iowa's 3pt shooting percentage last year? 30.5%. How are they going to get better? Who is going to take these threes? If only their coach was a former great shooter with a long NBA career . . .

Do you really think the difference between Iowa and say, Butler, is that Butler makes more 3s?

Didn't you know they have that kid from Des Moines that had one BCS offer coming in? Heard he shot 40% from 3 in the mighty CIML...supposed to be the next Ogelsby!

Waiting for a link to iowa being picked as a top 5 team by an espn analyst still.
