I love the "Hill was better all along, we knew it" narrative. Now remind me who they paid to be their guy?
It is a funny notion, but the system Iowa runs really limits what QBs can do as well as reduces the consequences of things they perhaps cannot do. A guy who wants to be a gunslinger, and perhaps has the skillset to be one like McNamara, is going to be put into a box at Iowa. A guy like Hill who is not an accurate thrower, and not very dynamic, may actually thrive because he is more apt to playing within the confines of the system and just manage the game so to speak. Is Hill a better QB? No, certainly not. Is Hill a better QB for Iowa's game plan and system? It is possible IMO. We have yet to see him play a complete game, however, so really he should be given a fair chance to demonstrate what he is and is not capable of before anyone jumps to conclusions.

I can agree with this. Also, I feel that no matter how good or bad the defense is they face, they usually put out about the same level of offensive output. That is what scares me about this weekend. Purdue has a bad defense, but I don't think Iowa's offense is up to the task to take full advantage of that. Purdue also has a decent offense with a good QB and skill players at RB and WR. Iowa's offense needs to score 27 points I feel to win this game, which means more help with a defensive or special teams score.

As a fat person, I don’t like fat shaming. With that said, all moral arguments are suspended with regards to Hawkeye Athletics. So carry on.
I mean, I weigh somewhere around what Deacon weighs (actually somewhat less, and I’m working on it every day), and I’m fat.

But I’d make fun of myself if I were the starting QB for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

I see that Cooper Dejean may play offense for them also.

It's not like that means he will score anymore TDs for them, though. It might mean fewer since he will probably have to sit 10-12 more plays on defense.
Kirk made it sound like he would be a plus but might have to watch how many snaps he takes since he does defense and special teams now. I just figured he was the savior of the team. lol
