Seems appropriate, hard hitting game. With the injuries mounting for Iowa though I still think the West is up for grabs.

Hard hitting because they can tee off against such bad passing games.

It's weird to see a division won by mid-October.

I watched most of the game yesterday and Wisconsin is SLOW. Their d-line looked like they were playing in mud. Those were two absolutely garbage offenses.
Bill I think we watched a different game. Brock Huard couldn't of been more amazed at the discipline and physicality of the defenses. A very throwback type game. I do feel bad most the country missed the Oregon and Washington game. That looked like a good game albeit much different

The big 10 west is embarrassing. When the schedule makers at the Big 10 offices made the 2023 schedule, you know they were on Ferentz's payroll.

Straight trash. No wonder Iowa is grasping as many "protected rivals" from the West as it can. Enjoy this last year of the West.
But that Iowa - Nebby rivalry has decades 12 years of history behind it. 12 years that Nebraska has sucked at football. That is why Iowa wants to maintain it. If Nebby had been the same level as 90's, you wouldn't see Iowa screaming to keep an annual ass beating.

20+ years of Nebraska at least quasi-sucking with a few decent teams.

Pelini averaged 9.5ish wins before and after entering the B1G and then it's been a revolving door for a decade.

Nah, they'll stick around, create a turnover late or run back a punt or something and win each game by a score.
We'll see I hope you're right but tough to rely on something like that and winning close games each week

Lol two teams who don’t believe in the forward pass are all the rage these days.

I just don’t understand the defensive bias of the narrative in general. Why is overwhelming offense in the 2000s and early 2010s big 12 viewed as ‘those teams don’t play defense’ and laughed at. But this mostly hard to watch slog yesterday not ‘these teams don’t play offense’.

I am not talking about a national narrative. I am talking about locally. These local dipshits mocked and backhanded every offensive explosion of points as some sacrilegious act, but they refuse to call out the BS in Iowa City right now.

Is it the machismo of offense being viewed as finesse and defense being an effort to teabag your opponent?
