Their punter is a legitimate weapon and completely changes the game. He started last season the same way. But as the season went on, he wasn't nearly as consistent in length or placement. Let's hope we get him on a bad day.
And as much as the punter gets all the love, they've had two straight AA kickers. When you can hit 45-55 yard field goals and your punter can punt 45-65 yards every time, it is very difficult to overcome.
We saw their kicker already miss one, and his second one barely got over the cross bar from 46. If they have to settle for FGs, it isn't the automatic 3 that we've seen the last 4-5 years.
Wonder if teams started bringing some pressure. We let him take as much time as he wanted. If we only send four we need to have 7 in a circle with one in the middle all waving fair catch so they can’t get close the the returner.
You have to be careful too, you have to respect a potential fake. Iowa's punting game is what it is, there isn't much we can do there. Catching the damn ball and don't let it roll inside the 5 would be a huge start. Taylor can flip the field from Iowa's 25, he's a hell of a weapon.
