This is such a tempest in a teapot and it is important to remind ourselves that something like only 3% of Americans even actively use Twitter. The listenership of KGYM in eastern Iowa is probably lower than that.

He's a real peach. His twitter is full of hot (read: really really wrong) takes.
IIRC DMC did that to get back at Madrid for having done it to them in a previous game.
Anybody says anything negative about Iowa or an Iowa sportswriter, he's right there to defend them and interject himself.
Really lack of local sponsorships? Unusual for a radio station to not want to support the local high schools.
Sounds like they don't have a ton of sponsorships for anything because Todd was complaining he would have to pay out of his own pocket for travel to the NCAA tournament.
Thing is more than likely he still wouldn't do anything decent for ISU. It seems he just wanted to use ISU for the tickets, and whatever else comes along with a press pass. Hawk fans never change their colors.
Then it makes it even more funny. I understand peoples frustrations with high school offenses stalling the ball, but it's literally a 2 way street. The defense can step out and force a 5 count. Madrid chose to camp in the lane so DMC hung onto the ball with the lead. It's smart and within the rules.
I don't disagree with this or what @NWICY said. At some point I am just saying it may be worth it to take the high road and be accommodating, in hopes that we get rewarded by it in someway. No one won or benefited the way this went down.

I think there was room for compromise until Todd started sharing screenshots of his email correspondence with Shoultz on Twitter to try to rile up his fan base. At that point, his press credentials weren't going to get approved.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I think too many people are making this about ISU punishing Todd and I really don't think that's their intent. It's true, Eastern Iowa needs more ISU support. However, in my opinion, support doesn't look like not covering a single ISU men's BB game, not covering the first round, then requesting access to the Sweet Sixteen. I understand how he could be frustrated, framing this as "I'm the only one who covers ISU, I want to cover ISU, ISU wont let me cover ISU", but that's just not true. Like you said, he needs to be better and he needs to be reflecting on the why instead of the what.
