Iowa media members can absolutely **** right off. And if I were ISU members I wouldn’t care what they think. Iowa media members are simply fan boys for the athletic department.
Chris Hassle is the only one who speaks the truth at times. He said what every Iowa fan, including their media members are feeling, and that’s jealously that our head coach in year one accomplished something their head coach has failed miserably at for his entire tenure.

So what is the whole story behind this? What exactly happened here?
Three things
1)I was trying to look into that but couldn't exactly find what it was about
2) I have no clue who Todd Brommelkamp is
3) I am not a huge fan of Matt Shoultz due to a couple run ins with him. Dude is pretty arrogant, so it wouldn't totally surprise me if he was in the wrong here
Brommelkamp wanted media credentials to cover Iowa State in Chicago. Shoultz turned them down because they didn’t bother to send anyone to Milwaukee. Brommelkamp is now throwing a fit about it.
I believe that Matt was the one in the athletic department that got upset with CW last season regarding Prohm.
Seems kind of petty to turn down credentials to me, unless there are a limited number than can give.
Yeah not a good look for Brommelkamp and Shoultz. Both come off as being petty, and both are. Todd didn’t need to bring any of the interactions with Matt public. He did it to prove a point and make ISU look bad on a day when Hawkeye fans had nothing else. Matt stupidly gave him ammo.

I do have to love Brommelkamp bringing out the “But KGYM is a Cyclone affiliate!“ card when KGYM literally airs Hawkeye football pre- and post-game shows even though they don’t have the rights to air the actual games.
I think KGYM only airs Cyclone games because it’s the best that’s left after WMT kept the Hawkeye rights … plus they only have ISU sports on their AM channel and not any of the 2? 3? alternate FM broadcast options they have. KGYM isn’t fooling anybody, if they had the chance to grab the Iowa broadcast rights they’d drop ISU without a second thought and say it was a lie that they were ever part of the Cyclones radio network.
Don't piss them off. If they didn't have Iowa State, I wouldn't have any station that it came in on.
The sad part is the need to make it public. Call the man up and say we couldn't cover everybody. Now we'd like to promote your school in Eastern Iowa.

I used to find the online stream from the station in Albia, because somehow they always escaped the restrictions and still got Cyclones games on the internet.Can someone explain what’s going on here?

Seems ridiculously petty to turn down any exposure for your program, no matter how minor it may be

(I can also tell you I know of another Cedar Rapids station [that I actually do some play-by-play for] that would grab the Cyclone Radio Network in a half-second if KGYM ever let it drop)

I am not sure the right thing to do but this guy is a Hawk homer who rips on ISU all the time. Guessing he hasn't made it out to Ames in years....
