Corporal Slater. Same guy. Named a football field after him.

What did I miss with this Deyo story?
Basically an Iowa reporter said he wouldn't qualify at Iowa and some speculated that reporter was told this by the Iowa coaching staff. It was more or less Iowa fans trying to feel better about themselves since Deyo committed to us. It all appeared to be BS as Iowa and Iowa State have the same academic requirements.

They're all clamoring for a spot on the prestigious Kinnick Press Box Media Wall of Fame.

Yes, that's a real thing:

Interesting words from Petras. This was exactly what Leistikow wanted I’m guessing.

I'm glad my kids are no longer in sports for this reason. Made it through their entire HS and college careers with no significant injury, and quite successful. It's tough being a parent of athletes.

Hlas' game story is the typical 'what could have been'.
But he really goes all out for those crying tavernhoks by opening and closing his article reminding them that the mighty hoks were once rated #2.
Pigs do fly in the state of Iowa.

Padilla likely to enter the transfer portal tomorrow then. Hawk fans about to melt down on local radio this coming week at the prospect of yet another season with Petras at the helm.

I really like Hlas but “what could have been”?! Today was the only loss that wasn’t a total curb stomping. What could have been was about 4 more losses if their opponents would’ve caught a break or 2.

I agree 10-4 was realistically about best this team could be.
