Yeah I can’t see both Petra’s and Padilla coming back.Padilla likely to enter the transfer portal tomorrow then. Hawk fans about to melt down on local radio this coming week at the prospect of yet another season with Petras at the helm.

Currently each conference school is receiving around 30 million per year from their tier one TV deal. We know that each year a contract comes open for renewal, that number goes up. The question that no one seems to know is "what is the value of the Big 12 without OU and UT?". Some say that is a .50% loss in value, others would say it will be less.Equal? Try a huge fraction which is what Bowlsby and our own administration is warning of. My idea might be bad, but let’s try to find some ways to maximize revenue. Obviously, it will never be equal at this point.
Hmmm....When Iowa's total offense ranks in the BOTTOM 5 PERCENT of all FBS teams, don't you think Chad should be firing his tough questions at the Ferentz coaches rather than Spencer Petras?
Keep this up, Chad, and you're definitely going to end up in the University of Iowa's Sportscasters Hall of Fame that's prominently displayed in the Kinnick Stadium Press Box. It's apparent you've learned the rules for covering Hawkeye football.
Agree. Also hoping for another year of Pac12 ratings disaster, which 0-5 can’t help. Their TV deal is up in 2024 and with another year of decline in ratings, they will struggle to do better than the new Big 12.Currently each conference school is receiving around 30 million per year from their tier one TV deal. After the showing and ratings of ISU, OSU, Baylor and Cincinnati over the past couple of days, I would bet the numbers of the new TV deal will be closer to 30 million than the 10 to 15 that some people were predicting when all this came out. Live sports are the money maker of programing currently, that is not going to be changing in the near future. The Big 12 needs to schedule like the SEC, play the bare minimum of 8 conference games, get 3 or 4 cupcakes for non-conference and build up the resumes of the conference schools. It"s worked for IEU and the SEC for years, the Big 12 needs to do the exact same thing.
Expand the playoffs and making sure that each current P5 school gets a bid and the Big 12 will be fine.
I would take that in a heartbeat. Each team is getting what, something in the neighborhood of $35mil per year? A .50% hit would be a reduction of 175k.Currently each conference school is receiving around 30 million per year from their tier one TV deal. Sec doesn't play home and aways especially up north you'll probably have to settle for week 1 In Atlanta or OrlandoDoubt if we take a huge hit revenue wise. However, without OU and UT, playing all cupcakes for non-conference isn't going to work, like it does for SEC. I would like us to think about getting a home and away with say, Ole Miss or Mississippi State.
How would you know? You don’t leave Iowa until October every year.Sec doesn't play home and aways especially up north you'll probably have to settle for week 1 In Atlanta or Orlando
I saw somewhere that the B12 was hoping for a 50 percent tv rights increase before OUT left. Odds are that we end up some somewhere is the ballpark of what we have currently. Which will be way behind the SEC and B10, on par with ACC. I’m assuming the PAC will be the same as well but their deal will be really interesting to watch.Doubt if we take a huge hit revenue wise. You got me there. I think if we still played 4 ooc games we'd be braver than most the SECHow would you know? You don’t leave Iowa until October every year.
He needs to be left alone. He is what he is. This comes from the top though. When Kirk makes statements about joking about a backup, he basically condones and starts it himself.I was very surprised to see the Gazette re-print some of the nasty tweets from tavernhoks about Petras. New low for the Gazette.

Maybe start a rivalry with BYU (Mormons) and Waco (branch Dravidian’s). Have a new blow up doll and winner gets a new “wife” for each win.Use the extra scheduling freedom to preserve/restore regional rivalries:
Backyard Brawl
Holy War
Missouri Border War
Keg of Nails
Bedlam
Telephone Trophy
Black Diamond Trophy
That’s one way to drive ratings. We should also generate a few trophy games for our conference matchups:
Cincy vs. WVU “Daniel Boone’s Musket”
Farmageddon “Golden Plow”
Baylor vs. TCU “Gideons Bible”
Houston vs. UCF “Gulf Coast Cup”
I really only like the idea of farmageddon here as it has formed naturally between the schools (that or the riot bowl for us and WVU lol). Making a rivalry trophy game just because it's the same conference is so big 10.Use the extra scheduling freedom to preserve/restore regional rivalries:

It would be interesting if the new Big12 could find interest in a football conference rivalry series. We already have one with SEC in hoops, maybe that would help in setting something up for football. If no interest by SEC, then I would approach Pac12 to do football & hoops. Then drop SEC Hoops Challenge. They need the Big12/SEC hoops Challenge to improve that conferences hoops credibilityDoubt if we take a huge hit revenue wise.
