Did I miss that the baseball players got suspensions more than a meaningless series earlier in the season? He’s probably right. Sounds like it’s mostly wrestlers and baseball players at Iowa that are a problem.
We’ll lose 5 starters on the football team, and Iowa will lose a couple that will never play anyway.
I’m just going to assume Iowa will smoke us in football this year. Then I won’t be disappointed no matter what happens.
I don’t think the baseball players have been able to participate since it all startedDid I miss that the baseball players got suspensions more than a meaningless series earlier in the season?
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks the final investigation will amazingly coincide with whenever the team's baseball season ends. We lose FB starters for the Cy-Hawk game, their best players get suspensions that either don't matter or will never be served (if the guys graduate).

David is an IDIOTBecause he's an immature troll looking for clicks.
If he did it at the old school, the new school shouldn’t get punishment, should be the player and old school.Yep, I'm hearing that it will be mostly baseball players and wrestlers and past FB players for Iowa. I'm hearing that a player that transferred is in the mix. Will be interesting if it is true and what obligation the new school will have.
I agree. But if it is the player, it has got to suck to get in a transfer and then he can't play.If he did it at the old school, the new school shouldn’t get punishment, should be the player and old school.
Assuming proper compliance steps were followed by the old school in terms of drilling it into their head to not gamble i'm not sure what sanctions the old school should/could face. I know Iowa State compliance beats it into you to not gamble and I would assume Iowa is similar. So I would assume the player would be punished. If he did it at the old school, the new school shouldn’t get punishment, should be the player and old school.
Considering that VT player got suspended 6 games for gambling on the NBA you can probably bet that they will be.If the penalties for this are worse than the penalties for a DUI then i will be pretty sad.
I agree the new school won't be punished outside of having a scholarship player be ineligible for a chunk of the season.Assuming proper compliance steps were followed by the old school in terms of drilling it into their head to not gamble i'm not sure what sanctions the old school should/could face. Arland Bruce is definitely in trouble.Yep, I'm hearing that it will be mostly baseball players and wrestlers and past FB players for Iowa. I'm hearing that a player that transferred is in the mix. Will be interesting if it is true and what obligation the new school will have.
He was suspended longer than 6. It ended up at 6 after appeal. Totally sucks.Considering that VT player got suspended 6 games for gambling on the NBA you can probably bet that they will be.
You know they will be. Look at the NFL and Ridley vs what domestic abusers get.If the penalties for this are worse than the penalties for a DUI then i will be pretty sad.
While I agree with the premise of all of this, gambling simply cannot be allowed by those people close to the game such as players and coaches. All of the players knew the rules and penalties and still decided to not follow them. I'm sure the NCAA will try to make an example out of them for this. You know they will be. I think everyone is agreement that this is unacceptable if they are betting on college football. A harsh punishment if they were betting on EPL or NBA is stupid though. While I agree with the premise of all of this, gambling simply cannot be allowed by those people close to the game such as players and coaches. I guess in the NCAA's eyes, it is a very slippery slope. I understand both sides, but it is hard to stick up for the player in this instance. They knew the rules and ramifications. It sucks, but it is what it is.I think everyone is agreement that this is unacceptable if they are betting on college football. A harsh punishment if they were betting on EPL or NBA is stupid though.
When you start making carve outs, it becomes harder to police. They may end up doing so to appease the advocates of allowing gambling but it seems much easier just say don’t do it.I guess in the NCAA's eyes, it is a very slippery slope.
