Illinois-Iowa

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Iowa finished up with the exact same regular season record as last year.
20-11 (9-9) But, DEPTH!!!

Didn't realize that. If they drop their first game next week they are wading into 11/12 seed territory.

Same record as last year. And last year's Hawk team deserved an invite more than this group. Last year if I am not mistaken, they won 4 of their last 5. This group doesn't deserve a bid unless they can win two........TWO in the conference tourney. West Virginia is a better candidate. They just beat KU, beat us, beat OU and have the same conference record as Iowa in a tougher conference. All the pre-season love should not be the reason a team gets a bid. Somewhere along the line they have to earn it. And this Hawkeye team has not.

Only Oklahoma taking care of business against tcu bucked the trend of a good basketball day. Add Roy getting smoked in dukieville to the list of positives.

just looked and Iowa's RPI is at 47. If they lose to Purdue, they might not make it. RPI in the 50's at least if they lose that game, their RPI will be around 55. They'll be sweating it out during selection sunday if they lose that first game.

So looking over their season....
The win against Michigan stands out as impressive.
Their second best win appears to be against Nebraska.
Yeah, they beat Ohio State when they were ranked 3, but Nebbie finishes ahead of OSU in the B1G standings so considered a better win? Maybe not, OSU was away.
But still, considering their hype, hard to think of a Nebraska win as one of their high points.

Yeah, I forgot that Michigan blowout win. They have two impressive wins. @OSU is solid. Neb at home wouldn't even register as one of our better Ws.
