Agreed. Their record on quality wins is weak. If you did a blind test on their profile, there is no way they make the dance. They get in on name alone. Shouldn't be that way.

Just curious, why would Iowa deserve a 4 seed? Just because they won at probably outside the bubble Michigan? All this after losing 5 of 6 conference games, 3 of which were to non-ranked teams.

I have no idea.
I just brought up the funny idea of UNI and Iowa being paired together.
I could also see UNI as the 12 and Iowa as the 5.

In the late picks the committee is looking to save face. Coach Marshall has made deep enough runs in the past that they will not get egg on their face if WSU gets bounced in the first game. For this reason they will take the safe pick.

I saw Washpun's shot, at the angle from the opposite basket. Minus the defender going down while he's still in the air, it kind of looks like Jordan's shot to beat the Cavs.

Question.... Yes, both Monte and Washpun extremely good and key to running their teams, but strictly in a 1-on-1 situation, is Washpun a tougher guard to defend? Probably not fair to compare tho, due to quality Big12 guards he must go up against every game.

I know what you mean. I was at the UNI-Iowa State game in Des Moines this season. I know its not fair to evaluate players based on 1 game but on that day Washpun pretty much owned Monte. I remember he looked alot bigger and physical in person. I remember thinking to myself that he looked like a better pro prospect on that day.

He played out of his mind that day and Monte played poorly. You could say some of that was due to the matchup, but I think most of it was just thats how they played that day. Monte is a better prospect because he fits what he would be used for better. Someone to facilitate the offense when their starter is out. I don't see Washpun being able to do that.

^^^This. How dare anybody pull for any of our other state teams when they arent playing Iowa State. Thats the attitude alot of people on this board have. I for one enjoy seeing all of our teams in the tourney. We're all Iowans here.

The tables are turning for Gard to be offered a long term contract already.

Alvarez opened that job a couple of weeks ago...think it was basically so that Gard was the one candidate.

If I heard this correctly I want to think that Wisconsin wanted to remove the "interim" tag from Gard a while ago but due to some Wisconsin mandate, they had to actually formally post his position and wait a certain amount of time before they could remove the tag. Looks like he is finally being offered the job but it sounded like the Badgers wanted to name him head coach earlier. I could have misinterpreted how they were explaining it though.
