Ideal Big 12 Tourney Draw

Pretty funny to see OU as a 9 in the conference tourney just like last year.

Just curious, why is that funny to you? (just wondering if it was a Trae Young thing). Sure and heck hope bad karma doesn't follow you and you don't have to hear someone say the same about us being 10th again next year. Now....of course we're all encouraged by our additions next year plus experience our young guys got. But isn't that what was said about OU last year? Just saying....can you name 2 or 3 conference teams that are actually going to be 'down' as far as talent compared to their team's roster or success this year? One might say OkieState, but Boyton appears to have it going. Our improvement has to be leaps and bounds better as echoed by Prohm's comments, but YES, it can happen and hopefully it will.

I think it’s funny a team that returned everyone, a McDonalds AA, and was #4 in the nation, is now a 9 seed in the conf tourney just like last year when they were a bad team last year. Why, you take offense to that? Our situation isn’t really the same as OUs was the last 2 years, don’t know why everyone is obsessed with comparing us to them. We are bringing back 2 freshman better than anything they did and we have a loaded class with a good transfer sitting, while they had only Young and Maneck.

I still won’t be surprised if we are 9-9 next year, but oh well.

One sentence got this rambling response?

Several teams could be a little down. I think we'll be a lot up. Not worst to first up, but realistically, if it's that challenging, we need to be 5 games better. And not have half our starters out with injury.

Not sure about crapping themselves. With K-State doing pretty decent this year, it might soften the blow of ISU fans not being here in droves.

Neither K-State nor KU brings the fan$ anything like I$U does.

Like I've said elsewhere, this tournament should be renamed for us because we bring more money to town than any sponsor!

I love our chances of making the Semis.

I won't be shocked either way.. getting bounced Wednesday or playing Friday night.

It is, and forever will be, "The KU Invitational™". I remember when I went to my first Big 8 tournament, I was surprised at how well ISU traveled...and that has not changed. On the flip side, when the Big 12 was in Dallas, I couldn't get over how poorly represented the Texas schools were.

Even more crazy that the 9 seed is 8-10.

You speak the truth.

I wont be surprised if we win Wednesday, especially if Bamba does not play and Texas also has to play with 7 players. However, if we beat Texas, we are going to have to play fast. That being said, Ill be shocked if we can turn around 24 hours later and pull out a win on Thursday.

You saw what a Bamba-less squad did against West Virginia... I want to believe, but I've fully accepted we're the worst team this year (not by talent, but by effort/experience and players available).

I just hope we keep it within 15.

I dont draw one game conclusions. There is no question our chances of winning increase exponentially with Mo Bamba out and Texas playing with 7 players.
