Idaho killings

Phone records indicate Kohberger had been in the area of the crime scene 12 different times before the murders. Late at night or early in the morning.

If anything, this makes me a little less suspicious of him or makes him seem like he made a mistake. When my son started grad school, he waited until he had a term under his belt to make sure he liked it before he got new plates. Then he changed them so whoever in his department who was paying his tuition internally had additional proof of his in state status for tuition.

This guy changed them before his first term was up. I suppose it was before they had zeroed in on his car, but it also puts his car in the Washington system, which given proximity they would surely search if they knew they were looking for specific make, model, and color. And if he was worried about the PA plates in the system, by changing plates they know he had PA plates. Doing that may have helped them zero in on him when they had enough tips on the car.
According to the affidavit, he was pulled over in August and it was noted that the PA registration was set to expire on November 30. Registering it in Washington when he did might just be a coincidence.

Reading the affidavit is crazy. They knew so much more than what was public. Surviving roommate(s) allegedly came face to face with the suspected killer as he passed her bedroom door (which she had opened upon hearing what sounded like crying) before he left the house.

It also sounds like there was no DNA genealogical website connection. DNA from the scene was later matched to DNA collected at his parents house at the time of arrest. They caught him by linking him to his car which was observed in the area. Then using his cell phone location.

I hope they are holding back some details about the roommate, because that seems like the craziest part in all of this now. I get probably being under the influence, and sheer panic, but to hear crying and thuds and dogs barking and seeing an unknown guy in your house wearing a mask and to do nothing for 8 hours?

I'm not sure we'll ever know those details, unless that roommate does so publicly. I've never read an arrest warrant affidavit previously, but given the DNA, cell phone records, and video surveillance in the area, it certainly appears that law enforcement found the murderer/suspect.

Probably tremendous shock. Brain can literally dissociate in intense trauma. Rationally, we all believe we'd act differently in these types of situations - and some of us may, particularly if we have any type of training in that space. 19yr old late at night, possibly intoxicated? Not as much of a stretch.

But she was scared enough to lock the door. So weird she didn’t call 911 right away.

They stopped him on purpose on his drive home, to look at him, and for injuries on his hands. They had him and knew it was him for quite a while.

What little I have heard him speak it sure sounds like those earlier vids shared.

Not opening it at this time. Does it mention motive?
Not necessarily but he was stalking one or more of the victims. His phone pinged at the location of the residence 10+ times during a span of time- can't recall what it was off the top of my head
