Hunter Deyo commits

I'm certainly not doubting your assessment of 'stud' receivers. But a couple of them are 3-star rated, correct? I'm just totally curious what the heck a 5-star rated receiver would be called then. Elite stud? Stud of all studs? If a 3-star can be called a 'stud', then what incredible characteristics must seperate a 3-star from a 5-star?? Serious question.
Some five and four stars are incomparable freaks of nature, but if you find the right three stars, the difference between them and the typical four/five star is readiness to see the field immediately. The vast majority of FBS recruits are three stars; I just think that we’ve focused on the right ones in Essex and Adams—guys with high potential. Stud potential. I think Gaines is a guy who’s similarly talented, just a little further along his development curve. He’s a typical four star. A stud. There’s also the fact that some lower rated guys are under-scouted, and therefore underrated. For better or worse, I trust my own eyes more than I trust a recruiting rating. It’s fun to watch Hudls.

I’m just some rando. You’re free to rate them however you’d like—call them whatever you’d like—but I like the guys we’ve targeted and I hope they all come to Ames.

Looking at 247 composite there are only 4 five star receivers in 2022. There are 49 four stars including Greg Gaines.

Not everyone can be good in the SEC at once. Other schools like South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Auburn hired better coaches. Everything is still there for Tennessee to be a playoff team. They just need to hire a coach that's better than others in the confence.
I think they're about to enter Nebraska territory to be honest. So about that Hunter Deyo kid?

My biggest take away from that article is that Iowa felt like a business, and Iowa State felt like a family to him. That's why Campbell has had so much success on the recruiting front. Also sums up why Deyo picked us pretty nicely.

He said he pretty much knew he wanted to go to Iowa State during his visit to Ames. All of us thought he was going to the TOE. Shows how little we know.

Got your pedantic pants on today do you?

I am in the middle of 3 dudes, the tallest at 6'2.5"with my bothers at 6'1". We all hit 215+ lbs in high school.

Home delivery of 14 gallons a week.

Yikes for sure in 2021.

All skim, btw.
pffft . . . amateurs. It took a dairy farm to keep the eleven of us kids in milk. We would get it directly from the holding tank in 5 quart ice cream buckets. Usually two buckets per day. Let it set and cream rise to the top, skim a little cream off to use in baking, mix the rest in. IDK, maybe about 6-7%? Milk is probably still my favorite drink 40+ years later, but I now drink 2+ gallons of skim per week.
