How far can Iowa go?

I don't. I love the round robin in football and home and home in basketball.
A 10 team league is great for fans and I'm sure most IA fans would love the B10 back to 10.
(I'm saying this as if money wasn't an issue/influencer for either league)

Oh, I agree 100%. I like playing everyone actually. It just isn't the greatest thing for inflating our W-L record though... like Iowa gets to do.

But I like playing good teams in Jack Trice every year. I wouldn't pay the money for season tickets for Iowa most years if I were an Iowa fan... it just isn't worth it.

Yeah.... Hawk fans response is basically...... "we can't help it that our schedule sucks so bad, the B1G West is awful, and we don't play anyone that's any good".

They play one good team the rest of the year.... and that's this week... and of course they get them in Kinnick. It's unreal.
All of us Cyclone fans admit that ISU wet the bed in our one shot against Iowa... like we usually do because our coaching staff has no clue how to start a season for some reason. But it's one game... and ISU has done a great job of improving every year as the season goes on. I just wish we were able to escape playing the best teams in our league like Iowa gets to do every year. That would be another 2 wins every year for sure.

You can dissect just about any schedule in the nation except for SEC teams and the Big Ten East. Big 12, Big 10 West, ACC, Pac 12…. They all just have 1 or 2 teams left to play that are credible, some none. Then you look at some of these Top 25 teams and who they have played so far.

For any team, that should be your focus is to have better recruiting and coaching than your division and rivals. You know you will play them everyyear so if you can set yourself apart that is really all that matters.

Wish we could put this SOS talk aside and just let teams prove it in a larger playoff format. Opinions win championships in College Football, pretty weak.

Playing everyone in the Big12 is a good thing for ISU. Over the last 3 non * COVID years ISU has only had to play 9 games vs teams that finished ranked in the top 25 AP poll in conference play. Over those same non * COVID years Iowa has played 11 teams that finished ranked in the top 25 AP poll in conference play.

the worst thing about the big 10 sucking is iowa fans are convinced they're good for about 3/4s the year while everyone outside the local iowa media ignores them

The PSU game being at Kinnick is huge, both in terms of an advantage and a showcase. There’s a chance BOTH Big Noon Kickoff and Gameday are in town. There will be lots of gushing about Iowa, their program and venue.

Hope the boys can stay focused. One game at a time. It’s all right in front of them.
Lol, that was never happening.

I don't blame ESPN going to the two new SEC teams game. They wanted another opportunity to troll the hell out of the Big12 and pump the hell out of the new SEC that they own.

Surprised ISU fans are happy about this one????
Yea, cause they like never go to Dallas almost every year or anything.

It is a matchup of traditional blue blood programs and this is the 2nd time they have been there since the new Big12 was formed. Heck they have done as many ISU vs Iowa games since the new Big12 was formed.

This will be a big long SEC commercial.
