Hoiberg Raise - now makes $2.6M

Fred won't leave til he at least hits a final four.

He won't walk into an NBA coaching job unless he knows its a winner. Why take it, and get bounced 3 years later.

NBA/NCAA coach salary comparison surprises me; I would have thought NBA coaches made much more compared to the top ~25 university coaches. Adelman was 2nd highest on that list, though.

I feel like dancing:

Will probably never get old. :)

someone overlay this with raining dollar bills and it's perfect

Fred's a competitor. Coaching in the NBA is very tempting for him, & he'll take the next step IF the timing is right. That being said, he probably won't leave without at least notching a win in Lawrence or a Final Four appearance. You can already scratch Big 12 Title off his bucket list.

I think if he get's a shot to coach the Lakers with a LeBron or a Durant or something like that, that is the scenario we should be worried about. He isn't going to leave for just some job. He would need a perfect situation. He's not dumb.

He's not going anywhere. He wants to win here. He will get 900 wins here. The NBA rumors help bring in top talent. Keep that rumor mill running, Hoiball ain't stopping.

Well-deserved. I don't see him going anywhere for a while yet. He wants to win here and establish ISU as a MBB power, and that still has a ways to go, at least to reach the level I believe he wants to reach. Plus, going from the college ranks to the NBA has not proven very successful even for some really good coaches, so why risk that? Winning there is far from a sure thing. I think he will be here until at least his 2 older kids are through high school, and hopefully beyond that.

Worth every penny. And if someone complains about ticket prices rising in the face of this (which they probably won't) they need to be slapped in the face. You do what it takes to keep one of the premiere coaches in the game.

I'll pay anything Mr. bag man

Yeah, he should make more than Capt. Kirk since he adds way more value to the State. Hoks will probably need to give Francis a raise as I'm sure there are several college and pro teams courting him... lol

2.6 million in Ames, probably goes a whole lot farther than NBA money in a big city.
