Heat wave

Put me in the group that likes cold weather. Just out of curiousity, if the temp is between 30-40, are there any other people that will wear gym shorts and scandals outside?

Absolutely gym shorts. Sandals, depends how long I'm spending outside - if I'm just spending a few minutes outside, like taking out the garbage, I'll wear sandals. Half an hour or more, I'll wear my Nikes.

It just shouldn't feel like 95 °F with humidity at 82%, and dewpoint at 78 at 9:12 at night.

We had a big two gallon tub of Gatorade out there with us so it wasn't too bad at the time. We also took a couple WWC breaks. The headache just sorta came on about an hour afterwards.
Headaches can still be a sign of dehydration. I would still continue to push the fluids.

I will go on record that when comparing extreme's..........this heat is much more preferred than a middle of January siberian express. That catch your breath, stiff nose hair, freeze your gums if you smile BS I can do without. Someone said we need to mark this thread and bring it up again in the winter. I agree. Because frankly.......95f/65h/80dp/115ap will be sounding pretty good when compared to -10f/wc-40/nw wind of 25-40mph.

Yeah, I was exhausted after that. When I was a teenager, I golfed 36 holes in 95 degree heat (walking), and went home with the worst headache ever. Ended up throwing up all night. Probably lucky on that one.

Yeah.

I drink a lot of water anyway, but knowing that I was doing this today, I went into overdrive to prepare. You have to have some hydration before you're in the heat. Catching up once you're depleting is extremely difficult.

The Gridiron Club golf outing in Ankeny on Thursday is going to be brutal ...

I think the A/C may have stopped working in my room. An hour ago, the thermostat said it was 73 degrees in here. An hour later, it's 80 degrees.
