Hawkeyes starting safety transferring

But Maryland being good means more subscribers clamoring for BTN games. Strong teams on the field leads directly to more viewers and more money. That’s the financial position. I really think Rutgers was a basketball play, not a football play. Trying to get players out of NYC. At any rate, there is no indication that payouts to schools are going to take a hit. You’re projecting. Might be right might be wrong.

LOL, just stop. Realignment has always been and will continue to be about football.

Winning doesn't solve the cord cutting dilemma that cable companies are experiencing. Just like ESPN, the BTN can't rely on the subscribers to foot the bill for their premium price they are charging the cable companies. Cable subscriptions continue to decline and at some point something will have to give. BTN will either need to move to a subscription based service or lower the price they are charging the cable companies.

I never would have guessed KF was only 63. He looks good, but I thought he'd be closer to 70.

Rutgers was chosen because of proximity to the NYC tv market. Zero athletic prowess mattered to the B1G in that decision.
If you truly think it was basketball driven, Syracuse and Uconn were far better options.

That judgement is premature in my opinion. Maryland could get very good relatively quickly. If the BTN is unable to retain primary carry rights in the footprint, it will hurt. If Maryland gets good, it will help biggley.

At a minimum, those two teams allow coaches from places like a iowa to tell recruits we could come back to your home town area.
No one cares about Maryland football. No one. In that area of the United States, its way, way, way at the bottom of the totem pole. That's not good at all for recruiting.
Again, Maryland, just like Rutgers was a TV market grab.

Anybody in that area interested in football is watching Ravens, Skins, Eagles or Steelers games not Terrapins.

Ok hawk trolls, are you guys proud of your conference? Seems like you have school after school covering up sexual abuse school after school.

I think Pittsburgh was the better choice, but they wanted the DC and NYC markets. Right now, payouts to the schools are through the roof and show no signs of abating.

Nobody gives a **** about Pitt either.
Penn State has atleast 5x the following they do. Adding Pitt gets them nothing.

You’re simply incorrect. Western Pennsylvania is a thing in football. It’s obvious you’ve made your mind up so there’s that. Many Iowa fans questioned the addition of Rutgers and Maryland. So far, it seems to have worked with increased revenues to the schools. Certainly a bunch more than the big 12 is seeing.

For recruiting, it’s about Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State being able to tell these kids they’ll be on the east coast every other year.

I'm not incorrect, the city of Pittsburgh gets the B1G nothing.
They already have that region because of Penn State.

You are touting TV success and recruiting at the same time.
Maryland not playing Duke in basketball is the biggest issue that fan base has with realignment.

Trust me, I know the area.

So out of curiosity, here’s the rivals breakdown for the top 30 high school players in that State that choose Ohio State, Michigan, or Michigan State combined:
2014: 2
2015: 1
2016: 4
2017: 1
2018: 0
2019: 0
2020: only 1 high schooler has committed so far and it’s Virginia

LOL at your theory
