Hawkeyes Basketball

How many important players have missed games against ISU this year? I know a few of there losses came against short handed teams. Also, one could argue that Michigan is better without Lavert.

Go ahead and name them. I'll wait.

I can guarantee none as rpi skewing as missing Valentine, and the wsu joke that counts for a quality win. But please feel free to support you weak claim with facts.

Fact remains, the hawkeyes have what 2 top 50 wins that are legit, and one is purdue that just beat its first top 25 team.

To be fair, Ridley has missed the entire conference season. OSU is depleted also. Can think of any other teams we've played who have had a major contributor out or hurt.

Still tickets available. Fran did say he wanted to get rid of senior night though so I'm sure it'll be a magical night

Wow. Besides Uthoff, they say goodbye to at least two and maybe three four-year guys tonight. (not sure the deal with Clemmons?) I've never thought Woody or Gesell were great or anything, but they have given a lot to the program.

really? Why? I suppose the emotion can be tough and there are some senior games when you can't come out flat and win.

But dingle and gessel grew up hawk fans, you'd think they and the fans would want that moment.

Georges probably didn't know **** about Iowa state until he was recruited and last night was meaningful for everyone.

“I don’t get into the emotional side of it, to be honest with you,” Iowa coach Fran McCaffery said. “I’ve been on record as saying I wish we could do away with senior day and celebrate those guys at the (postseason) banquet the way they need to be celebrated.”

And until last night texas has been playing their best basketball in conference. Would you say the same for msu?

Ridleys been gone almost all year. They are what their resume says they are. Im sure you can see the difference in whole conference rpi skew/perception.

It shocks me how his teams always fall apart at the end of the season. I'll never understand why...

To be fair Iowa has only fallen apart one time two years ago. In 2012 they finished strong winning 6 of 8 and going 1 and 1 in the BTT before advancing to the finals of the NIT. In 2014 Iowa won their last 6 and 8 of their last 10. This year isn't looking that good right now though, but still time to right the ship so the book hasn't been written yet.

Well the fans who care about these players don't all get to go to the postseason banquet, do they Francis?
Fran is such a dip ****.

Every school has to deal with emotions and focus on Senior night. Because he sucks at coaching his team he would rather get rid of it.

Thousands of fans screaming their appreciation vs an extra big helping of mashed potatoes. Solid choice Fran.

Coming from the most emotionally unstable coach there is.

You gotta think it's gunna be somewhat awkward tonight for the fans. I mean, I'm sure they appreciate their players, but there's really not one that is beloved, like they've had in the past.

They had RDM two years ago and Aaron White last year. Are Gessel and Woodbury on that level? Clemmons for sure isn't, Uthoff has the most accomplishments, but he's a transfer.

I dunno, gotta figure either Gessel or Woodbury get introduced last, or do they shun them and go with the thug transfer?

Well that's weird.
